  2. I'm all with you
  3. Mister Metallurgical Engineer Man. So what is the thick glassed texbook analysis of titanium, personally I think its the best.
  4. http://www.windwave.co.uk/documents/techinfo/dealer_explodeddiagrams.html enjoy
  5. Point taken, iragr I still think very few people do some research into bikes and products before they buy. Whatever material it may be. So the general rule is of? ? LIGHT ?, ?CHEAP ? and STRONG, you can choose 2?
  6. A lot of the brainwashing is due to the advertising of bikes in SA. "Oo this one is stiffer" but most people don't realise that stiffer is not always better, you lose comfort. And MTB'ing is growing so quickly that most new buyers believe any bull$hit they hear. Procrates2009-10-04 02:14:28
  7. MJ, have you ever ridden a modern steel or even titanium for that matter? How can you be that nasty to steel then, both these materials give you way better ride quality than carbon.
  8. Try to lessen your peddling power for a short while, while shifting. You dont jam your cars gears while holding the accelerator. And technically the piece is part of the frame not derailer.
  9. Please read the mtbr reviews before you buy. http://www.mtbr.com/cat/tires-and-wheels/Wheelset/mavic/crossride/PRD_353658_157crx.aspx http://www.mtbr.com/cat/tires-and-wheels/wheelset/mavic/crossride-disc/PRD_414932_157crx.aspx Not for someone +- 100kg Procrates2009-10-01 13:02:49
  10. 2 cross each spoke crosses 2 going the other direction. 3 cross you can obviously figure out. radial straight from hub to rim. If you want to really cool start twisting the spokes aroun each other.
  11. I must agree with Onetime. Even though I am a cyclist myself I cannot help get mad at some idiots that ride like @ssholes in traffic and skip traffic lights. And then they get mad if other road users dont respect them, see the irony. Remember it only takes one stray car or taxi to termibate you. Worst is it reflects badly on the whole cycling community.
  12. Just go for a good set of XT cranks, after 4 years of riding they have never let me down.? Also check you chain regularly and replace immediately if needed, its the best and only way to save your cogs and rings.
  13. Share your thoughts.
  14. Why don't you have a look at the rubber coated ones at builders market R30 for 2 with the wall plugs included. I've used them for a few months now with no problem.
  15. Lovely when you have access to machines like these.
