  1. I have no idea. A number of cyclists will park at the start and probably will return there en masse. Other will continue on to extend their ride.
  2. "Our" own cycling/sports commentator.
  3. Just a reminder Guys and Gals. Be there to be part of the solution. #bikeattackersmust fall
  4. Be there to be part of the solution!! #BIKEATTACKERSMUSTFALL
  5. @ChrisF, I'm not the organizer/convener of this ride, just passing the info on. The person organizing this is well connected/bit of a media celebrity himself. He will make sure we get as much traction as possible.
  6. And in your infinite wisdom, what do you propose we do? Do you think this ride is to intimidate/try and dissuade the crims? No, it is to highlight our plight to the powers that be, as they were notified of this ride, and the reason for It.
  7. Mass/Protest ride from Woodbridge Island to Woodstock Bridge. Might not change much but will hopefully create a bit more awareness.
  8. Another attack occurred over the weekend. Join us in taking a stand on Sunday 12 Jan 2025, starting 07h00 from Woodbridge Island. #BIKEATTACKERSMUSTFALL
  9. Cool your heels, nobody wished death on anybody.
  10. Comment removed.
  11. Did the N1 drag yesterday morning, both ways. Going in, only one shady character sitting on the railing of the upper bridge, no other people in sight, not even the Law Enforcement personnel that was visible the previous two days I went past there by car.
  12. Oooooo...... He will receive some of his own medicine, that's for sure.
  13. LOL..... When you put it like that, yes. Nope, it won't be an option, I think.
  14. Just keep in mind that the land these criminals are staying on does not belong to COCT, but Prasa and Transnet. COCT does not have jurisdiction there. The Ministry of Transport / Minister Barbra Creecy is the dept in control of those parcels of land. So rather bombard her and her office with mails, as ultimately the buck stops with her. bcreecy@parliament.gov.za TransportMinistry@dot.gov.za

  16. Why? We pay tax so law enforcement must do their job.
  17. Not sure of exact location/name of street, on the cycle lane in Paarden Island, close to the one Bus Station, a business had erected their emergency generator, complete in a steel cage, smack bang in the middle of the cycle lane. As I'm avoiding that area for a long while now, I do not know if this is still the case, or if it has been rectified.
  18. Because the "political will" is not there. Remember, it's rich people on their expensive toys that's being attacked and relieved of their insured items. Thus it is redistribution of wealth, and a victimless crime as the insurance will pay out / replace the items......
  19. Snip Snip, comments removed as it is a double post.
  20. I did send a mail to his office, and this is the reply I got from one of his aides. Good day, I will be out of the office from 29 November 2024 to 16 December 2024. I will respond to your email when I return. Kind regards, Daniël Eloff Principal Legal Advisor Office of the Executive Mayor
  21. I would suggest the cyclists who got attacked with the bottles at Woodstock Bridge this morning, go lay a charge of Attempted Murder at SAPS, as there is a real possibility that a cyclist being hit with a bottle could be killed, either from the hit by the bottle, or he could lose control and end up before a passing vehicle. At the very least, it is Assault GBH, and the SAPS must open the case. If there are multiple cyclists, they should insist that a case be opened for each and every one. SAPS cannot just ignore this, as it would affect their crime stats. This has now moved past the point of just a mugging/robbery, there is now serious intent to injure cyclists, and it is premediated/planned and executed.
  22. I agree with Mamil, this is a tragedy in the making. 23. So my question of earlier again. How long before someone gets gatvol and decides to take matters in own hand, what will the reaction of SAPS be then? Rock up in droves to arrest the person trying to protect his or someone else's life? Throwing bottles at passing cyclists in order to bring one down can be construed as attempted murder, as it can be foreseen that a person could possibly be killed by the action of the bottle thrower.
  24. I heard a report of a group of cyclists, with a support vehicle, who got attacked shortly after the above incident. The perps were so brazen, they did not even try to hide, just stood there next to the road whilst pelting the passing cyclists with bottles, probably in an attempt to bring one or two down in order to rob them. I'm starting to think there is absolutely no interest from SAPS to get this situation under control.
