  1. @Sportopia Cycles in Lower Main str Obs stocks the UDXB range of BMX parts. Some really premium parts can be obtained through them.
  2. Correct The one Mtb social group (not Club) has around 300 members.
  3. Not to forget the E-Bike championship he collected somewhere along the line.
  4. Nobody really knows what happened. He was on his way to an early meetup for a ride, when other members of the group also still on their way to the meetup point, found him motionless in the middle of the road. Severe head trauma, dislocated shoulder and broken/cracked ribs. No other vehicles in the vicinity.
  5. Yeah, he's a tough nut, mentally and physically. His last CT scan came back clear, he's breathing on his own, on liquid diet now, and started to chat with F and the boys. Very short sentences, but he's cognitive. And F says that when he's annoyed that characteristic lift of the eyebrow is still there. As far as I know there is absolutely no news or new info around the incident, or what actually transpired on that fateful morning.
  6. Tragic. Info around it is very scarce. Glad to report that he is improving by the day, as you might well know.
  7. Nissan ouens sit net in die hoek en smile, want hulle weet jy kan met n Nissan.
  8. Are you referring to the incident with Mike B?
  9. Motorist ARE NOT aware of us on the road. The other morning, around 08h30, little bit of Cape winter sun shining (so not dark). I was already stationary at a Stop street, waiting for the cars who stopped before me to go. As I started pedaling to cross the road, a lady in her big Fortuner came from behind, and proceeded to turn in front of me, forcing me to dismount and jump on the pavement. Had I not done this, she would have sideswiped me. I was quick enough to hit the back quarter panel of the 'Tuner one good blow, before she sped off turning around the corner. Doubt she even realised what just transpired. The driver of the car who stopped at the side of the Stop street road the 'Tuner driver turned into gave me a sheepish smile, shrugging his shoulders in disbelieve of what he just witnessed.
  10. And you didn't feed him a front wheel through that window!? You're a better person than me.
  11. SA Cycling has lost a voice for cycling and a stalwart. R.I.P. Tim Brink. Condolences to his family and friends.
  12. I'm not the most technical savvy guy around, but I found the process to download and connect quite easy. 1)You need a Fire Stick of some sort connected to your TV, as the program is Cloud Based. 2) Download Rolla App onto said Fire Stick from the App Store / Play Store 3) Download Rolla App to you phone from their website. 4) To start a session, both TV/Fire Stick and Phone must be open on Rolla App. It is not the most intuitive app, but with a bit of fiddling I got it going, pairing my Trainer and Garmin Instinct without hassle. It was a bit of a schlep, as I could not find any how-to instructions, if there is any. But perseverance paid off in the end. I inserted my Ant+ dongle into an empty slot at the back of my TV, not entirely sure if this was necessary, but I had Speed, Distance, Power, Cadence and HR data displayed and recorded. As a backup I recorded on my Instinct at the same time and got all the same data recorded and downloaded to Garmin. It also uploads to Strava. The riding experience was acceptable to me, as my requirements and expectations was quite low. (Lol) There's not a lot of routes to choose from, but as the App is still in BETA, I'm sure more will be added. I tested three of the shorter routes, and the roads was empty, with only a handful of other riders coming from the front, and two who passed me from behind. There was a number of runners on the routes as well. The graphics are OK, actual routes, but completely devoid of any other activity, like spectators, cars, banners, etc. like on Rouvy, MyWhoosh and Zwift. I actually prefer it like this, as I'm there for the riding / training, and not entertainment. The riding experience felt quite realistic on inclines and downhill. You could even freewheel to a gradual stop. There is no drafting, or segments like on some of the other Apps. So, if you are looking for an alternative that is not heavy on resources, and FREE, head on over and give this one a go.
  13. Anyone tried Rolla before? Also free to use, supports Android, not virtual routes but actual recorded footage. Can be downloaded to smart TV and app on Android device. Gonna give it a try this afternoon. Feedback to follow.
  14. My PC (laptop) is so old they don't even make electricity for ir anymore, thus downloading MyWhoosh on it was a bust. Downloaded the App on my Oppo Android phone, and surprise surprise, it works. Picks up my quite basic Saris M2 wheel on trainer (even Though MyWhoosh says they do not support it) Speed, cadence and Power works, resistance is there in "Freeride" mode., It just does not pick up my Instinct2 watch, thus there is no HR (MyWhoosh also does not support the Instinct2) Works reasonable well, minimum buffering and pixelation, but all the settings that I could find was set to minimum.
  15. Thanks Martin. Not sure it's going to work, as I've just realized mine is the Force shifters, not Red. Not sure if there is a big difference between them or is it just the material (carbon vs alu) they're made of.
  16. Rehashing an old thread. I'm also in search for these hoods, tore one with my last cable replacement exercise. Bought these shifters second hand, so no idea of year model. Is there a way to establish which year model the shifters is?
  17. And then you still have some Clever Trevors that go and ride on some of the trails that are closed / not opened yet, and then stuff it up.
  18. You can also contact Reon @Sportopia Cycles. He takes pride in his work, and if memory serves me right, also Lyne Components distributor.
  19. At least the MyWhoosh team are quick with replies. "Yes, our team is working on adding more equipment to the compatibility list."
  20. ChrisF, I wonder why not. I'm now ruing my decision to drop my $7.50 pm subscription to Roovy a few months back. It's now $14,99 pm, and my current financial situation does not allow for such excesses. 😜 I'll just have to live with not having HR recorded in one file / download. I will just push record on my Instinct every time, at least I will have a Garmin file with my recorded HR over the session.
  21. MyWhoosh replied with the following statement: Hi *****, Unfortunately, this is not possible at the moment. Regards, MyWhoosh Support
  22. Anyone of you clever people know if you can / how to import HR data from your Garmin to a MyWhoosh workout to at least have HR data also on your workout. Apparently my Instinct 2 is not "compatible" and as such does not link with MyWhoosh. Ps. I dunno if the SarisM2 has the cadence sensor built in, but I do have a Garmin cadence sensor on my bike, and MyWhoosh somehow paired with a cadence sensor and I get cadence data with my workout data. Pss. I sent MyWhoosh a mail regarding the importation of data from Garmin files. Still awaiting their reply, will update here as soon as I get an answer.
  23. Ah, now the light goes on. My OPPO does not support / have a slot for Ant+ dongle. No wonder it does not work. Eish, us old toppies and technology.........
  24. Anyone been able to pair their Garmin HRM to MyWhoosh? My Instinct2 does not pair, and MyWhoosh technical support told me that it's not compatible. I then tried my HRM straps to see if any of them pairs, but with no success. According to the support website, Garmin HRM straps are compatible. Am I missing something here?
  25. One million and eleventy five. Lol, this post was in 2021.
