  1. Not likely. But thanks for the vote of confidence.
  2. 2C, down from 1H last year. Probably to be expected, if the last race you did was the 2018 CTCT.
  3. How can Squirrel be shocked about the Eskom state of affairs if there is no power?? The cANCer cannot dig too deep into the the overspending at the power stations, as they themselves (as a political party) benefited hugely through it. Some of the companies owned or affiliated to the cANCer received huge contracts, for services either not rendered, or sub standard service, or just the completely wrong items was that supplied / fitted. Nope, they have their hands in this cookie jar, up to their elbows.
  4. Last race I did was 2018 CTCT, Racetec got my seeding as 35 (and dropping fast) I will probably have my worst seeding in years.
  5. It was, the few of us still alive today, still chat about it whenever we get together. It was quite an eclectic bunch of bikes, with a few "exotics" of that time, such as an Kreidler, a Zundapp and a Puch in the group. I was on my brand spanking new Yamaha RZ50LC, and I was the only one not to have any mechanicals there and back. We sommer slept on the beach infront of the Beach Hotel on the esplanade. Crazy, hey?? The exuberance (stupidity?) of the youth.
  6. We've done the Jhb to Durban trip on our "Fifty's" in the early 80's. Took mostly the back roads, and slept over in Harrismith at a friends family. Now that was an epic trip.(and crazy)
  7. Which goes to show, ride it more often and your skills will improve (if you survive the first couple of times)
  8. That's what the Bloemendal XCO course is for....
  9. Dirty "fuel cock filter" perhaps? Not sure if the KLE has the same, but there normaly is a small mesh filter inside the fuel cock that prevents bigger particles of dirt / rust entering the fuel line. Unfortunately you have to remove the whole fuel cock to get to it.
  10. Thanks, she's a beaut and rides like a dream. Pity my legs cannot do justice to her at this stage. My claim went without any hitches. Took just on a week before they paid my claim in full, and I had my "Claims Card" in my hand. Only issue I had is that my preferred supplier for the replacement bike was not on the list of their authorized dealers, but a quick phone call sorted that out. They just checked on his credentials (that he was an authorized stockist of Silverback) and then the card was unblocked, and the deal went through. My new bike and Garmin is also now insured by them, and my monthly premium went up by a few rand only, mostly because I increased the insured amount on the bike, Garmin and my cycling garments.
  11. Ag no BSG. Hope you recover quickly and 100% too.
  12. Would also like a '65 model. Then my car is as old as I am.
  13. NO EFFING WAY... NOT IN A MILLION YEARS!!!!
  14. Also got one of the above water holders. Bought it of a Vetshop. Sure I saw some in a Crazy Store also.
  15. Sad news indeed. R.I.P. Johann, Condolences to his family and friends.
  16. So would I. If all my schemes work out, 2020 will be my year.
  17. As I read and understand it: Team of two entry – R24800 (per per person per team)Solo entry – R28500 (obviously solo entry)Why I say that, we did a team entry in 2016, and that's how it panned out.
  18. I did not ride, but suggested to guys I know who did, to park at Paarl Mall, cycle the couple km in as a warmup, and then back to the car as a cool down. I hope they took my advice. I predicted a "boggerop van epidermiese proporsies", with the new venue.
  19. Not in my grubby hands as yet, but this is the bike I will be replacing my stolen Solis Scoria with. Silverback Sirelli 2, full carbon, except handlebar and crankset. Groupo is full Shimano 105 (CSR7000), wheelset is FSA Vision Team30 Comp. Weighing in at 8.06kg in the shop (sans pedals and bottle cages) Should take possession on Monday.
  20. Same here Gummi. I'm a Nissan fanboy, but I would like to own two Toyota's, the gen 4 Supra with the legendary 2JZ-GTE motor, and the gen 2 MR2 with the 3S-GTE motor.
  21. True, but the previous gen Supra was in the same fighting division as the R33 to R34 Skylines. Everyone is going to expect this one to square up to the R35, but 250kw/500nm against 408kw/632 does not make an good comparison. OK, the GTR is fairly heavy at 1740kg (1570 for Supra) is not a lightweight, but with a power to weight ratio of 235.9w/kg is not too shabby. If my calculations is correct, GR is only 159.24w/kg. That is a great deal less, but this car was surely not designed/built to compete with the R35, that is why Toyota built the LFA.
  22. A good looking vehicle, but lacking in the performance / power stakes. 250kw from a twinscroll turbocharged 3.0L straight six engine? Not overly impressive. https://www.wheels24.co.za/NewModels/toyota-finally-takes-the-wraps-off-its-sa-bound-gr-supra-20190115
  23. I thought (read) that the Sti will be discontinued, that the last model was the end of the line for that model.
  24. Amongst my drama, I got to fit these on Saturday afternoon. Was a bit of a fiddly operation, but I got it fitted after a bit of trial and error. Refused to let other people prevent me from doing what I enjoy, so I took it for a test ride on the TGMTB trails yesterday. Works flawlessly, I'm very impressed.
  25. Thanks for the concern shown, and words of encouragement I received. My whatsapp training group reminded me of similar incidents on Malanshoogte road a year or two back, also involving a White Corsa bakkie. What are the chances that these okes resurfaced again? Must say, Durbanville SAPS are taking this serious, had a call from a female Sergeant on Saturday afternoon to get some more info, and then a Captain followed up yesterday morning, going over my statement and asking more questions for clarification. Going to report incident to my insurers this morning, let's see if King Price makes me jump through hoops or not.
