  1. Aaron Gwin is chasing you towards Cloud 9 on Friday practice for the national. You share a 25 minute shuttle ride with a bunch of french dudes. All the girls are faster than you. There are 120 DH riders entered for the national. You don't mind walking around the pits in the pissing rain. There's a strange buzz in the air. EPIC.... come on WC. Who is coming to watch, if so we should definitely try meet up.
  2. Cap, that bike rocks dude!
  3. No problem mate, let me know what you think when you get it, have not had a chance to test one yet. Sent one up to NSRMTB to do a review on.

    Bike suggestions

If i were you, i would look at a freeride rather than a all mountain. My suggestion would be the Mongoose Khyber. It's got about 6 or 7 inches of travel and is a great all rounder. Dual chain ring up front with bash guard and chain tensioner. You can get a new 2008 model here for a rediculous price, and it's decently spec'd. http://www.obike.co.za/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=120&category_id=3&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1
  13. Thanks Cap, man that Freelap system is cool, but flipin pricey!
  14. I am looking at bringing in 20 on my first order, so if you are wanting one, place your order via pm or e-mail dean@iburst.co.za. The price will be R450.00 excluding delivery in SA. No vat at the moment. Delivery once the shipment has arrived can be your choice of either SAPO (Registered Mail with tracking number, 5-7 days) +- R25.00, or Speed Services Counter to Counter (With Tracking number, 3-4 days) +- R60.00 I will require a 50% deposit payable before i place the order. I don't want anyone backing out on their order. The price is slightly higher than the $55.95 USA retail, as i will need to pay shipping and vat once the package has arrived. I will guarantee that i will not become the usual "SA distributor" and milk everybody as much as i can. I will do everything i can to maintain the overseas recommended retail. There is no reason why you should be able to buy it online cheaper!
  15. Hi guys, I just found out yesterday that my request to become the SA Distributor for the below has been approved.
  16. Yeah, i chatted to him practicing the Saturady before our first regional. After the SA WC, he will leave for France where he will stay and compete in the remaining WC events and other events. Awesome.
  17. Hi Goldencycles, Your Haro with it's current settings will be fine to start off with. You should have +- 5 inches of travel on the back, according to the spec sheets that is. Specs here: http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeSpecs.aspx?Year=2002&Brand=Haro&Model=Extreme+X1&Type=bike I started on a 2004 Haro Extreme X1, with 150mm forks and a 5 inches on the back. Served me fine for a full years racing and training. Enjoy
  18. Nice Nic, looks like we use the same photographer
  19. 35 when i started DH last year. Bounced of a tree while booking it and realized 3 things: 1. The faster you go, the smoother it is. 2. Tree's don't move.... try and avoid them. 3. Healing time at 35 is not as quick as it used to be. My single rule that rules them all through MX and now for DH. Dress for the crash, not the ride!
  20. Thanks Cap, no the last wasn't really off camber. More like just awesomely loamy with decent traction. I had an absolute blast on this course, fun factor was 110%.
