  1. Tried to book a few weeks ago but hotel is full. So we'll try and book into the Spa for the afternoon and head home late afternoon/early evening.

Wrong. I think Jano Vermaak is. I mean .....??????
  3. I think I'm going to need some type of (business) rescue. Am definitely taking my camera along ... understand the flowers might be a spectacle.

Well there we have it. Too soon maybe for Goosen? I think not, even though it may be a bit soon from injury. Raw talent in the mould on Frans Steyn and Pat Lambie.
  5. Looks like perfect weather!! Gonna need all the help I can get. Haven't been on a bike in two weeks with work commitments.
  6. Nope. Staying in a guesthouse in Clanwilliam on Saturday night. Driving through to Citrusdal on Saturday midday.

I would've agreed with you up until the S15 semi's. Then I realised he also has a very one-dimensional game. I'll pick Goosen if he's recovered, or Jantjies even. Lambie's not a specialist flyhalf in my opinion but can play 10 off the bench.
  8. Indeed. But some things are better delayed .....
  9. Just logged on to this thread so not going to wade through 11 pages, but my wife hates my cycling 'cause she's tired of waiting for me at the water points. "Up your game!" she says...
  10. Fast, mainly district roads and jeep track. Beautiful agricultural setting. One interesting climb on tar. And the Caledon Spa afterwards. A "must do" in my opinion. My wife and I are going to do it too. Will be my second one.
  11. Isn't Frans Cronje 9th on that list? Well done if he is!!

And please tell me why do we still believe we can run over instead of around players. The latter calls for flair and brains. The former only calls for brawn. And in today's modern game we are all equally strong - in fact, I don't think the Boks' body position at the tackle is good at all at the moment so they actually run over us - too upright. Like I said, I can go on and on ...
  13. To be sure, reading my post again, let me add that goodwill trumps all else in my mind.
  14. Man, there are just so many rights and wrongs here at the same time its frightening. RIP fellow cyclist.

We were nowhere at their breakdowns and struggled to get quick ball from our own breakdowns. Too many times they almost turned it over, without giving away penalties (in fact, we often became isolated and almost conceded more penalties for holding on!!). We miss Brussow more the HM will ever admit. Hopefully he recovers soon from injury. Potgieter was nowhere to be seen!! Bekker was weak on defense, and Jannie also wasn't firing on all cylinders. Hougaard and Morne just aren't up to par. Morne is too one dimensional on attack, and if it weren't for Frans Steyn at 12, things could've been worse. Pienaar I though was brilliant when he came on in terms of doing the basics well and keeping the opposition guessing at the fringes. Sarel Pretorius must surely be in the mix. And Goosen too after one or two Currie Cup runs. I can carry on and on .... very disappointing!!!
  16. That's stretching it a bit, don't you think?
  17. Not a good assumption. Read the SANRAL tollgate thread.
  18. And be careful when one day she's better than you, and you have to give her the car keys at the next race. Just ask me for pointers if needs be ...
  19. Ah. Shuttlecock. Thanks.
  20. Yip, unfortunately it seems that cycling will for the time being be tarnished as being rotten to the core. So wipe the slate clean and let's start afresh, I say. Can you imagine - a whole lot of PDC's? Not park distance control but previously disadvantaged cyclists. A very sad day for cycling indeed. Reminds of how I felt when the Hansie-gate saga exploded. And I forgave him in my own mind and still believe he was our greatest cricket captain and a role model and idol for many.
  21. ... or R+1 constraints!!
  22. No ways. It would be cast in stone.
  23. Couldn't agree more - love him or hate him, what he achieved was phenomenal. I'd love to see him compete at the 10th anniversary of the Epic next year. After all, as a country, we're (officially) renowned for forgiving (but not forgetting) our past.
