  1. I'm looking for a Rockshox Pushloc switch and hose... mine seems to be somewhat shot 😔. Please let me know if you might be able to help me out đŸ‘đŸŒ
  2. Ja, we've started doing our own tours around the place... KZN mostly. This one was certainly one of the best.
  3. Wow, just got back from an incredible few days riding in Hluhluwe. We stayed with Dave Veldman at Sand Forest Cottages, he's an ex-game ranger and lodge manager who is a great mtb guide too. We spent day 1 riding through Bonamanzi Game Reserve and some of the trails in the area. Day 2 started in the False Bay Reserve riding some spectacular trail through the forests and along the False Bay shoreline. We rode about 50km on both days, but there are options for less or more, depending on your needs/wants Unfortunately it was too wet to ride the trails along the Hluhluwe River called 'Hippo Highway'. This is trail that follows hippo trails through the bush along the river. Quite amazing and very different to riding anywhere else really. Lots of options to stop for lunch or a cold beer too. Get in touch with Dave if you'd like to organise a trip up there. He also arranged a game drive for us in Bayala Reserve one evening which was brilliant. They have self-catering chalets and are really nicely positioned to access the riding there. Dave Veldman: +27 83 651 8289 DM me if you have any queries or would like more info.
  4. Ja... looked a lot tougher than perhaps it needed to be!
  5. Hi guys, I know this ride took place this weekend as I was supposed to ride, but fell and cracked a rib last Saturday 😔. Just wondering what guys thought of it who did ride?
  6. Hi guys, I can see several shipping discussions about the US, but can't find advice on the forums regarding shipping something from the UK. I recently bought a frame and wheelset on eBay and got it sent to my brother's hoping to pop over an fetch it soon but flight costs have sky rocketed... Has anyone got any advice or ideas on shipping costs from the UK? Its a very light gravel frame with a wheelset. Andy
  7. Hi folks, I have a Gen 1 Kickr trainer that seems to have gone to sleep. I can't get it to come on and iKhambi Distribution who handle the repairs tell me that they no longer support the Gen 1. Just wondering if there might be anyone in Durbs who could check it out for me. Sani 2 Sea non-stop looming and weather's not conducive to training!
  8. I brought a bike back from the UK about 3 years ago. Qatar Airlines allowed u to take sporting goods including a bicycle. I just got a box from a bike shop there, boxed it up and brought it back. I'm planning on doing the same in July again. It's quite simple.
  9. This looks like an unbelievable deal on a titanium gravel bike. Anyone checked one out?: https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/CBPXTEMV3RIV1700BW/planet-x-tempest-sram-hrd-rival-1-titanium-gravel-bike
  10. Ja... maybe not the best idea after all! Thanks for all the input!
  11. Hi guys, just wondering, I have a towbar on the front of my vehicle for launching a boat. Is there anything wrong with popping a bike rack on there? Means I can carry bikes with my camping or boat trailer out back. Seems common in the States, but I don't see it here too often.
  12. Here’s my tourer. She’s a Momsen STR Steel frame with a Bontrager XC carbon fork. 1X11 setup with a 42T ring up front and an 11-42 Casette. Shimano 105 Hydraulic shifters I got off eBay plumbed into mtb calipers. Saddle is a Fizik Gobi that I recovered. Rapide bars up on an X-Zakt riser stem to bring the bars up a bit for those long days. Gets some odd looks from roadies! Absolutely love this bike.
  13. I’ve got an aluminum post stuck in my steel frame. Fortunately it’s the right height. I’ve taken the clamp off and just ride her like that. Maybe one day she’ll ease up. I take a seat clamp along on long rides just in case ????
  14. Thanks Monark, just took her on a 200km trip across KZN. Yoh, that steel frame is so comfy and the hydraulic brakes make things a lot more civilized!
  15. Arno is a legend!
  16. My build that started in lockdown, just finished: Momsen STR steel frame Bontrager carbon CX fork 1X11 Shimano 105 shifters Hydraulic brakes Rapide flared bars Recovered Fizik Gobi saddle Skinwalled Ramblers Very chuffed!
  17. Apparently it’s hugely corrugated in places. I spoke to Myles van Musschenbroek the other day and he reckons you’d need to be some kind of a mad man to do it on a gravel bike!
  18. I got called by a chap called ‘Henk from Roodepoort’ yesterday, claiming to have a part that I was looking for in a wanted ad. Sounded legit, but of course all the details about the product were in my wanted ad. He insisted that I ewallet the cash to him as he was on his way to the shops and would send it via postnet. I missed a scam alert off the site and made the transfer. R600 to +27 62 044 3792. No word since. I was a bit silly, but don’t want it to happen to anyone else. His profile on the hub was Pierre Muller.
  19. Are they a bit mini? I see they’re 650b wheels size. At 6’5” do u reckon I might be a bit cramped?
  20. Hi guys Just wondering if anyone has any experience of the Rook Scout that is being advertised on special at the moment. Looks like a nice entry option. Steel framed 650B for just over R10k. I appreciate that it’s only an 8 speed and that it has cable brakes, but that is upgradeable. Just interested in hearing some feedback if anyone has ridden one.
  21. I have a set of TRP cable to hydraulic calipers if you’re interested. Pm me.
