  1. If you have the same experience as me you will receive a mail that is addressed to one of his colleagues where he berates you and asks his colleague to look into it to shut you up. You know... one of those very embarrassing e-mails that we all send at some point in our life. He never bothered to apologise or sort out my query.
  2. it was on the first section which flattens out a bit. Good luck.
  3. Think I saw it blowing across the road at about 10am. Didn't pay too much attention to what it was I was avoiding. Was quite a way down if I'm not mistaken. If you are lucky it blew into the bushes on the ocean side. Might be worth taking a drive tomorrow.
  4. I actually think that Admin has been a bit slow on the uptake with this one. There is definitely an opportunity here for him.
  5. Nope, not quite. Worst case is he sends you a box of magazines then insinuates on the hub that you actually received the goods and are lying to defraud the insurance. Then he keeps you on a leash for about 6 months before finally returning your money ... maybe. It has happened and there have been a couple of more recent issues which I have'nt followed. Do your homework on the seller (and buyer).
  6. I am also shocked. colonel you will be. I stopped bothering with HR after about 6 months with the PT but I do actually think that there is an "efficiency" aspect still to be studied - that is generating the most power for the least energy expenditure. more watts for less heart rate Isnt that called getting fitter and stronger??? Yeeeesssss!!! But I mean more than that. For example try 1 hour at threshold power - 5% at 120 cadenceThen try 1 hour at a threshold - 5% at your most comfortable cadence. For a start I doubt that you'll finish the 120 cad but plot the HR graphs for both and you will see what I mean. Most power guru's will say ignore HR & ignore cadence butI believe that there is some research to be done to improve training with HR & power together.
  7. cat-i, do whatever is required to stay safe but unfortunately that will just become more and more difficult until it is really a case of being forced off the road completely. The mtb'ers who make a big thing of staying off the road like it's somehow an achievement don't seem to realise that this it's actually an acceptance of a lost cause. The challenge is to try to reverse the problem. So understand your rights as a cyclist, impose them where it is safe & reasonable and try to educate others about them. Then maybe one day we will all be safe on the roads. In the meantime do what it takes to be safe.
  8. Hate to say "I told you so" but on page 1 I said that there were infected avatars.

  10. .....says the man with the arsenal of powermeters!!!mmm The sad news is that I last looked at a power plot about 12 months ago & my PT hub battery is flat!
  11. Couldn't care about HR? Not planning on buying a power meter? The best thing that you can do is ride as hard as you can maintain for 1 hour 3 times a week.
  12. Looks like someone uploaded an infected avatar
  13. and it was a sub 3 ... sub 3 minute
  14. I dunno abut that. Can't recall how many times have I seen various outlets of the same business under-cutting each other - especially near year end and salesman have targets to meet.
  15. I'm taking the day off tomorrow so I might just take you up on that. Brass Bell?
  16. Irony seems too sophisticated for a certain late-nite, anonymous sniper, I'd say. Mmm maybe my wit is a bit on the blunt side tonite as I seem to have ellicited the response from the wrong person this time. JB, I was taking the mickey out of the claims of "2 businesses", "lots of k's" ...
  17. Roders dont get into a mindless fight with JB he talks big but hardly ever produces results other than google searches and stuff pulled out of his crusty underwear Maybe I'm having a slow night by did someone miss the irony in my post?
  18. Cyclist mom, look up the number for the PPA. Ask to speak to Steve Hayward. He is the reigning PPA chairman (or whatever). He is also linked to the Argus Cycle Tour by virtue of the relationship between PPA & the Tour. But more importantly he is also a relatively senior manager within the Cape Town City Metro. So he has all of the connections required to escalate this properly. Good luck
  19. well I hope this retailer is willing to give evidence under oath to the competition commission instead of just slagging his competition off to his customers. maybe you should contact the CC with this retailers details and a sworn statement of what he told you? don't get me wrong - I am not minimising what they have been accused of but due process must be followed now and we shouldn't all be jumping on the bandwagon.
  20. and those spectators in the third picture aren't dancing - they are trying to stand still!!
  21. You mean like they should burned at the stake or something?
  22. hmmmm
