  1. Another one for your list, if you want some different scenery, was this past weekend on the south island at Hokitika (http://siultra.co.nz/Home/ ), 24km, 54km and 100km. We have family friends who moved to NZ ages ago, the old man is a serious beast - he's done virtually every one of those multi-day stage races around the world in the most incredible locations, and always out in front. I heard he did this the other day so it came to mind.
  2. Wow, wow, wow! His sheer joy on his face across the line almost brought me to tears! Phenomenal
  3. FFS this is ridiculous! TACO!!! Pedal my boi!!!
  4. There's nothing better than someone simply sprinting off the front of a group. Haha - draft this losers...
  5. Guy with the best first name in the tour part of the breakaway - Taco
  6. Wow you weren't joking! What a beautiful set-up (if anyone else wants a peek - https://www.cyclingnews.com/features/alberto-contadors-personal-bike-collection-exclusive-gallery/ )
  7. Nah, he's too sore and bruised after bashing everyone out of his way yesterday
  8. Side-note: I like his bike. I don't know if it was just the angle yesterday but his handlebars looked Campenaerts-narrow and almost track-like in their shape. Very cool.
  9. Oh, is this fred about to be binned
  10. I have never really been blown away by Mad Giant beers on the seldom occasion I've had one. But... They have service that delivers 'fresh made' beers to your door, then once you're finished they pick them up and you get a refund on the empties. I have tried the (fresh) IPA and it was delicious. So I will be giving this service a go once I've burned through the Kings Blockhouse IPA's currently filling the fridge. https://www.madgiant.co.za/extrafresh/ (Joburg only (for a change))
  11. To be fair this is half the reason to join said cult. You feel like a proper boss in lifters. You did well.
  12. You could just as well ask Gaviria about the same thing after today. Oh, wait, the barriers worked, and didn't implode in a freak accident. Guess we'll ignore this incident too. It's time to leave Groenewegen alone. The guy couldn't even muster a full sprint to the finish today because of this kind of topic and comments. *don't read this as having a go at you personally
  13. Real k@k (non)straight finish I thought. More than anything I really thought Groenewegen should have had that. Could have done without that weird sit-up moment. (And probably needed 50m more anyway) Overall though, I've honestly never seen such a jovial, chatty, chilled 150km group ride in my life
  14. Oh this is Contadors bike! I was wondering what it was... Aurum, this Eolo team chap in the breakaway is on one. Pretty looking thing.
  15. Good grief, look at Terpstra's wheels!
  16. We move on today, when he wins the first sprint stage... Long long over-dragged out
  17. TOP GANNA!!!
  18. Sorry, I actually meant discipline. Time trialing is just poetry in motion. Aggressive, but just incredible. The speeds we're seeing are stupendous. 100% agree though on the grand tour. Italy is my spiritual home.
  19. Grief this is a beautiful event. The bikes, the position, the mega speed. I love it
  20. They just showed the gear ratio of Campenaerts. 11 - 28, 60!!
  21. Bar tape is too cool.
  22. The gold one was cool in a showy off way. But yoh this blue is sexy Edit: 'fairly large' front chainring too....
  23. *Tom Cruise of Minority Report likes your post.
  24. The last two were up legit hills and some cobbles though. I think he puts the stomp down and dominates stage 1.
  25. It came out yesterday in fact. Super super hot. Edit: with pic
