  1. Sad to see. I’m a proud Orbea owner but immigrated a couple years back. This will stick out like a sore thumb and be recovered eventually. Good luck.
  2. Buying a bike that you don’t test/see/touch etc is always going to be a risky move. Not sure if that’s been mentioned anywhere yet????. I been burnt many times buying bikes I didn’t go test first, nowadays if I can’t see it and ride it first then I ain’t buying it (doesn’t apply to new bikes obviously)
  3. I'll be down in January and would love a tour if possible - will be based in Pringle Bay so not much of a drive for me!
  4. As mentioned previously, Nic has some friends in high places. I wouldn't be surprised for a huge lawsuit to be the result of this. Sad considering that SANparks is really important for our various nature reserves and protected areas and I would imagine they are going to absolutely *** and betaal Nic into possible early retirement due to one aggressive ranger. Whats the potential life-long loss of income for a grand tour cyclist from this injury in the eyes of a smart lawyer??
  5. Granted this was back in 2017 but I took a screen shot as I thought it was weirdly low. I’m fit, but not that fit!!
  6. I have had positive experiences with both Spez and Pyga as far as pre-purchase treatment. Knipe Racing at Meerendal and Specialized in Somerset West happily gave me test bikes - they didnt feel great (for me) and I ended up buying a bike I hadnt tested (Giant Anthem X) and loved it (guess I was lucky). I now own a Scott Spark, which I also didn't test pre purchase (and also love - so lucky again I guess), not sure where I am going with this as far as testing goes but I would still recommend testing whenever possible and brands that dont give dealers adequate demo bikes are a bit kaka.
  7. Velo-life used to stock them - not sure if they still do. (they are in Somerset West, Western Cape)
  8. Also started 2G - great ride and good sports wrt bunch racing etc. once we caught the batches ahead it went a bit south though ironically. RIP to fallen cyclist. Thoughts and prayers with fam and friends
  9. I’m still here. Tensions running seriously high and I feel for the people having to face the angry cyclists when they are not to blame for this cock up - the people to blame are prob not even in this building
  10. That drop looks so easy on videos but its *** scary doing it, have done it a few times on training rides but it never feels less scary - hope your lightie heals up quick. I need to decide today between the XCO or the Contour
  11. So ...are results ever going to be released??
  12. Great course. Also was directed wrong way ended up on 47 km. Still waiting for results...Felt like I was in a cyclocross race for the first 10km .Nice pic Rouxenator - I am in there ????
  13. Was also hoping for Benky/The Friendliest Monster Alive to win this thing especially after his good ride at RTTR but its looking a bit tight now with MM motoring the way he is. Massive respect either way to all the cyclists out there
  14. Great ride. That was proper single track riding ! Bought a plot on day 2 after wp2 going down but still enjoyed each day. Does anybody know where pics of event may be available? I did spot a few photogs
  15. amped for this - have raced here many times on the motorbike but this time its just my legs to rely on for 3 days
