  1. That's the thing actually, a few bios have told me, the Vitality rewards actually does about as much harm as it does good. The unfit end up going out sure, better heart health, but boom they had no idea what they doing and now have joint and muscle problems. Those that are fit are now over training as you should not be hitting 80% max that often. Those wanting to work on the fat side of things, 80% is above far burner zone your not loosing weight up there your working muscle. Sure more muscle is good but running and ridding does not increase muscle mass to a point where your metabolism increases enough to offset the fat.
  2. Font forget putting the fitbit on the dog. I left, vitality never motivated me to get active, but it had nice rewards for it, but this year especially it was worthless. Some say the free coffee was nice, I don't like nor am near enough to use the free vida coffee, I dunno what that black swill is that mugg and bean sells. The fact it it went down from a minimum R60 weekly value to R25. I don't fly, I seldom go to the movies and I usually used my edgars Club anyway as the discount is bigger and I can get 2 tickets a day not 1 per movie. I don't gym, I have maxed out my required sports gear and more often than not the smaller shops are cheaper than sportmans anyway. I think next year the numbers will start to drop, people are not going to move banks just to maintain their financial rewards.
  3. That and with NHI they risk loosing their main business anyway.
  4. Easy, they have not added fokol to the bad words dictionary. This is an American coded forum, there will be plenty of Afrikaans swearing we will probably be able to use.
  5. Friend just got the same one. My Nespresso died so I got...
  6. I had that sort of value last year, this year, sweet fokol. It may be worth it to you sure, but for me, I literally got 2 disconnected diamonds, 1 x 100 points and the rest was all 25 and 30s. I just cancelled mine as for me, I'm putting in way more than I am getting out.
  7. Yes, but the exact same argument can be made for building, content and car insurance, even medical aid as a hole. Every insurance is a lot of money in hindsight, but again, who can afford to up and replace a house or a car. Friend of mine had a mtb accident, first bill was 140k, medical and gap covered all of it, and that's just bill 1,its 4 months of recovery, therapy and all that **** that they are going to pay for. So sure over the years you spend a lot of money, but the cost of decent treatment in this country, 1 accident and all your savings and a **** lot more are gone. Like that 24k,someone punches u hard enough on the face and that won't even cover the cat scan. 10 years ago I had 1 and it was 20k, I shudder to think what they cost now. My mother just had 2 eye ops, it was 11k per op, 11k for the hospital and 5k for drugs dude, that's 54k and she has been on med for 1 year at 1.6k per month. So assuming I saved that 1.6k instead even with interest I have not paid for 1 eye, let alone both.
  8. Like most insurance it's all money down the drain till you need it. Unfortunately, life never waits until you have enough saved up for the emergency.
  9. Oak Valley was showing off ALL the views today. This golden valley just looks so awesome.
  10. And she has arrived...
  11. I imagine it's worse if you don't have a verified browser when you do it. If possible just keep the old phone for a week. In your case not, but for the rest o ya'll
  12. I get a new phone yearly. Install app, verify on website and done. 2min tops. What you can't do is tap to pay, one time payments and add new beneficiaries in the app for 7 days. I last changed phones 10m ago and that's how it was.
  13. Had an idea to upcycle some old spares so had this made... So that I could do this, an old stem hanging off my wall. It makes a pretty damned decent hanger/hook for my full face. Got 1 more here for the bar coming off my new steed which will decorate some other aspect of my room... [emoji23]
  14. Nope, there are devuce ids attached to the uploads and gpx files do not contain hr data so would be worthless anyway.
  15. Yeah, these rewards actually works best for those who are already active and in a fitness routine, getting something like that for me would be easy, I run twice a week, cycle 3 to 4 times and swim once or twice so more often than not I have my 900 by Monday. Quite frankly I have no real rewards to work for, all I get back is my gym cash and well if I didn't get the R200 back I would not give a ****. I got the device booster as it was literally going to give me "free" money for something I intended purchasing in anyway, the booster had no effect on that decision, I only activated it on my way to the store having realised in transit that my Garmin would be a boost able device and at that time sportsman's warehouse had the watch on special beating even takealot. The booster was icing and at R90 a month pretty worthless icing.
  16. You get basically nothing out of the 2 weeks a month, the rewards are built around a whole month, you loose like 75% of the value of the reward, not 50%. You basically get 10% for 1 week, 25% for 2 week, 50 for 3 and 100 for 4.
  17. I got one, had some school fees attached. After tryna install it I went to Johnty "I ****** up, please fix" pulled the cable out the housing and coulr not get the housing out to fix it. Turns out I needed to remove the bb, which I lack the tools for. [emoji23]
  18. No you right they do, but Thier approach with the banking platform has been ass backwards. Banking is not a small decision, once you get to adulthood it like a freaking marriage, it's a calosal las to change banks and quite frankly the offer need to be exceptional from the new bank or your existing bank had to have gone down the crapper. I can change medical aid, insurance companies and to some degree even moving houses will be less inconvenient and painful than changing bank accounts. The problem with discovery bank is they offer a large list of "maybe" rewards and in order to earn those rewards you need to meet secret goals, with secret rules and secret requirements. I am not sure about others, but fnb does not piss me off and through eBucks I get close on R1500 worth of value for my R200 in bank charges. For me, why would I toss all that away for some maybe reward that I can earn through secret requirements? If you banked with not fnb, you can go to eBucks.com, go to the calculator and spend 10 minutes working out how much you would get back, obviously longer if you really wanted to go into detail, play with options and be pretty specific. For discover I have to go on blind faith, as far as I can tell, the only way to get maximum value is to move your entire banking profile over. From the bits of information that has come out, your rewards are based on income, relative to spending and saving habits and savings accounts at other banks do not count, only an external RA or investment with an investment house can be provided as proof of savings so if you have a money market investment via your bank, it does not count. How do they expect people to literally make a life altering decision off rumor and mystery. They not selling a magic show or a carnival here, this not a teaser for a movie. This is not a time for less is more. There is no half arsing vitality money reward, you either all in or wasting your wasting your time and I for one ain't throwing away a 15+ banking relationship with knwon High value rewards for maybes and possibilities.
  19. Yep, had a whole argument with them about that, they keep spinning bull**** about it being personalised. Fokol personalised when a computer is running it, a computer is based on rules which means everything is relative. If you do x, you get y. It's that simple.
  20. I think you need to visit a doctor, that's just wrong brah
  21. Ya, in not really good. [emoji23]I at least have 1 battle scar courtesy of banhoek.
  22. Nothing a good skills sesh can't fix...
  23. I made the same transition a few months ago, however for comfort not quality, them airflex are horrible to pedal in. These are so comfy you often forget they there, think 4 hours was the longest single session I wore them on. Forgot I was wearing them.
