  1. Colonel you say all of them use sh*t. I believe that. What about the pro team you support locally? You also include them? Before a person gets a licence in SA he/she must pass a simple lie detector test. Finish. Sponsors like Astana must now criminally prosecute Vino, let him go to jail. This is like white collar crime. What will we call it, "yellow jersey crime"
  2. so obviously the UCI charter didnt help al all. WAt nou? im picking the COO up at the airport at 20h15 tonite, back from France, will give him a kick up the backside.
  3. And Rasmussen will be in sh*t like Floyd just after the tour. I dont think T mobile will carry on either. maybe Kloden can ride for Barloworld now.
  4. i must say vino's ride reminded me of floyds special day yesterday. wndbreaker, you cant expect chunky to name robbie if he knows something but has no proof. i agree with chunky, but i think there are 10% guys clean. will be funny if they catch robert miller.
  5. At a social function i sat next to a dad whose motto for 5 years was to help his laaitie win a medal in the junior canoe worlds. After 5 years of all the efforts, monies, etc, he had a bad start at that race and finished without a medal. He can go on and become a top world class rower. After school and away from daddy, he stopped, now plays touch rugby for his varsity hostel, and probably has too many beers from time to time. I then asked daddy if he feels all this effort was worth it, expecting him to say NO. He said YES, it was worth it, the laaitie has junior SA colours. Now I totally dont agree with that, he also said he didnt had to push the laaitie, he was so motivated, he just wanted to train. Now a lot of dads are nodding their heads... The problem (as I see it) is that there was this big GOAL, and if you fail to reach THAT goal, you have failed. Rather build someone gradually towards a 10 year plan, and if you fail on the way, you can carry on as you havent failed yet, cause youre looking at the bigger picture. Its almost like the funriders in my valley that train sooo hard, only to have a bad race in their only race of the year, the Argus. Then their whole race is a failure. Breeze, I think the laaities in general are too spoiled, and I had some talks with Eug Rui, and he agrees. WE allready have the youngest EPO case in the world. Obviously because someone pushed too hard.
  6. i didnt say anything negative against him. It was a few remarks esp towards parents of top juniors. I cant wait to see our top juniors in the Tour, but dont push them too hard or fast.
  7. A lot of pressure to put on a laaitie to spend the food money on him. I think one can train for the kilo in RSA (if that is his best event). I hope ur son went for road, cause track is sort of dead. Compare money, spectators in TdF and track events. Willie E became a champ without going overseas as a junior, and without a father. Agree with bad communication from CSA. I hope it will improve. I dont buy the thing where you go for experience, if you lose badly, it is more negative than positive. Dont put too much pressure on now, 9 out of 10 stop when they are 19 or 20. Parents musnt live their dreams through their children.
  8. Laaitie gan paul **** toe, I started cycling in gr9, latrinus gr8, willie Engel gr10, johan engel(his better brother that stopped) gr12 all at same time in school., hans degenaar old boy.
  9. Is this for road and track, or just track?
  10. Cancellara crashed in the rain.
  11. Boonen posted a time of just under 1h18min. If the winning time today is around 1h4m30 sec he is OUT! Cut off is 20%. If it dries up this is very possible.
  12. Irish J maybe you can be Robbie's sprint coach next time. Please post that picture of the last sprint you won. Remember the SLIPSTREAM factor.
  13. A straight line?? about 400m from the finish Thor and another rider came over him, took him off Zabels wheel. Only thing he could do differently was to have Boonens wheel in last 10km and not that of Zabel. If any sprinter holds his line he'll crash into people swerving. "Hold your line" is for Argus tour funriders only.
  14. Tom has never finished....
  15. Astana started in crosswinds, when they saw Moreau was off they drove it very hard with Disco. BW also worked hard when they saw Zabel and Thor off. And then the crash in last corner took Boonen out, Robbie just gives me a heart attack when he start the sprint so soon. Allmost lost out to Cancellara. But brilliant.
  16. Cat 2 climb 40 km from tomorrows finish. If BW can help Robbie to get over and leave Boonen behind....
  17. Ek werk Maandag oggende
  18. Siutsu won the KOM at 36k's, but Im sure you can follow it yourself. Now the big toss up. Must I go for a ride or lie on the bed watching the Tour. The bed allways win.
  19. I see on velonews.com live coverage, Siutsu, Barloworld is in break. Top rider on GC. Only a minute ahead after 30k's
  20. I read a write up somewhere, people not impressed with the heavy frame of the Mongoose softtail. Maybe I'll wait a month or 2 and see what 2008 bikes are available , and I need to ride fast to get a sponsor.Groot Lem2007-07-19 07:03:37
  21. Does Raleigh (which 2007 Raleigh)have something similar to the Anthem? I will ride a Raleigh if I can save or get a better package for the same money. Will love to spend less of course. THanks for all the advice
  22. My new Mongoose hardtail was stolen a month ago. Must get a new bike. The old bike had SRAM 0, weighed 10kg. but the Epic was a bit hard without softtail. Any suggestions (with maybe a link to a test or specs). Mainly for Drifters, Epic type stuff. Had the GT I drive previously, a bit heavy. And the 2 biggest chill zone clients in the Epic will team up next year. Fellow Hubber Dick will suffer behind me next year. No sponsor yet.
  23. Rather feed than bonk.
  24. I've done all of them, will do no 4 next year. So I'm guaranteed an entry every year. Anyone....with sponsor? Latrinus skipping next year. Like the race, vibe etc. Not the way they treat the little person or small sponsor. And Mike Mike is soooo irritating, but nicer than Kevin at least. THanks Shimano, was nice to stop at service points to pump wheels after the sandy stuff. Breeze, gan jy ry, of weer uitpull? Kom ons maak n bet.
  25. O hel, my laaitie going to grade 8 next year, no sport, no cycling, maybe social cross country. But he missed primary school SA maths team by one point last year. Will try again. Thats his sport. And stuff anyone. He also likes hiking in mountains, absailing. Also going to the big rugby school in Stellenbosch next year.
