  1. Robert Millars teammate.... Why are they catching ridersall of a sudden now? Are the controls improving? I dont think this is the first time he uses something.
  2. I can apologise. Sorry Fandacious, you just irritated me. The Lemmers are not well known for manners. Who knows who no idea. The race is on CSA calender, normal excuses a few of us with normal jobs, trying to get a ride in sometimes, stuff it up sometimeswhen trying to organise races. Its a low key event, will be happy if we get 100 riders. Mainly cater for hard core roadies, esp the youngsters in Paarl that just race on the track.
  3. Im sorry about the late notice, waited long for traffic to get back to us. Colonel, thats if u dont slip on the very slippery mountain.
  4. . I'm out and out a roadie, Quote Fandacious. 5. Mampara, dis OK as jy liewer in Afrikaans wil skryf
  6. Same reason why your dog licks its balls. No, we also need to service the roadies in the Cape area. Esp the youngsters in Boland without mountain bikes. Most of the top roadies only do road. Like CSC, Pinnacle Point, Daikin, Maties. We had allmost no racing since April, and there are riders that want to get ready for spring series. Sub vets start with vets, but usually the top sub vets race with elites. So they have a choice.
  7. ROAD CYCLING EVENT IN <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />WELLINGTON <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> The Boland Cycling Union is hosting a road cycling event on Saturday 4 August 2007. The event will start and finish at the Nursery / Farm Stall on the R45 road (Malmesbury road) outside Wellington. The different categories will compete on a 13 km circuit, with rolling hills, just outside Wellington. This is also a great circuit for spectator viewing. Under 10 and 12 riders will have to complete 27,6 km over 2 laps, under 14 54 km over 4 laps, under 16 67,2 km over 5 laps, ladies 54 km over 4 laps, Veteran cyclists will complete 67,2 km over 5 laps and the Junior and Elite cyclists will complete 93,6 km over 7 laps. It is less than a month before the popular Pedal Power Association Spring League events start and this circuit will definitely test the cyclists level of fitness. The event will also definitely be good preparation for the under 16 cyclists that have the goal to compete in the forthcoming National under 16 Tour during September in Harrismith. The first race, Juniors and Elites, will start at 14h00. The riders can enter on the day of the event at the Nursery / Farm Stall from 12h00. Entries will close at 13h45 on the day. Entry fees for Juniors, Elites and Veterans are R50-00 and under 10,12,14,16 and Ladies R30-00. Directions to Start / Finish (Nursery) from Cape Town: From N1, take the R44 ? Wellington slip way. At the stop street turn left on R44 towards Wellington. Continue on this road until the 4-stop crossing R44 / R45. Turn left on R45, Nursery / Farm Stall on your right. 8. What do you think about the following scenarios? If I stay in Jhb, A seeded rider, and come and do a PPA race in CT , do I only need a CSA licence to race and start in A? Can my new national seeding, or Gauteng seeding, let me start in A, and in a race presented by a regional body I dont belong to. I think yes in both instances, as PPA is an affiliate of CSA. If so, who do I need a CSA licence AND a PPA membership? Surely the national seeding must replace different "regional" seedings. If a "funrider" belongs to PPA and he MUST have a CSA licence, musnt a part of the PPA money go to CSA for the licence. I think there is a chance that we will be able to get a licence via our province, no club needed if we dont want to. Must the person with the cheapest licence, maybe like R50, have the same seeding/starting priveliges as the person with a full licence? CSA will talk about this soon with PPA, and I want to pass on some good advice. Thanks (I'm not the criminal rastafarian at CSA)
  9. Owen made a comment and it was repeated in this mornings paper by Wilhelm de Sward. Robbie MUST win last stage and then he will have green jersey, stage win is 35 points, he was 25 points behind. or Robbie MUST beat Boonen and he wins green jersey , do they forget that 2nd rider gets 30 points, then points to 25th place! If Robbie won, and Boonen finish outside top 15, the Robbie would have it. THe other comment made by Wilhelm. Robbie was pushed against the railings/side, and then finished 4th. He was far from 1st when guys drifted towards him, not close to any railings or the side. Boonen was definiteley faster, thats why Robbie tried to go early most of the times, to get an advantage before Boonen jumps, but didnt work. But well done Robbie, now go for worlds and Vuelta.
  10. I wonder what type of bonus TBW will get?
  11. Contador won the dope Tour, Evans won the clean one
  12. Retirement next
  13. So then robbie cant sprint in paris. pity, last year same sh*t for him
  14. I think a rider can choose. soler wants polka, he owns it. Kont wants yellow, he's got it till 18h00 tomorrow.
  15. I dont think we must forget Leipheimer, if Lance is there with muti, Disco will win.
  16. The local managers and riders must also start to clean up the sport. I dont believe them if they say all their riders are clean, or that nothing wrong has ever happened . Its good if the local sponsors start to ask questions. A week after someone comes out of suspension he is right back in a team. Look at Owen, Fullard, Perry (oh shucks, and a rider of the little team i support). That means our managers are willing to get tainted riders just for results. And how Zabel is allowed in this Tour, but not Bjarne is beyond me.
  17. The manager and coach are just as guilty. Imagine Austin's team is in next years Tour, and for a whole month before the tour he doesnt know where his top rider is. That is ridiculous. You talk every day about the training. Its like the month before the Tour you send your guys on leave.
  18. I agree, they really stuffed it up. Now T mobile wont renew, as well as Astana, Cofidis, Rabobank.....all the pro tour teams gone
  19. Contador 1m53 on Evans. Is that enough, and another 1min is Leipheimer.
  20. Poor Rabobank domestiques, they worked sooo hard. I'll klap Rasmussen if I'm one of them. And for that matter Floyds team last year
  21. Sorry, chicken was kicked out by his team, poooor domestiques, they worked sooo hard
  22. yesYellow jersey wearer Michael Rasmussen was sensationally kicked out of the Tour de France by his own Rabobank team, the Dutch outfit revealed on Wednesday. The Dane had seemingly weathered the storm over missing four out of competition dope tests in the past 18 months and had won Wednesday's stage to all but seal overall victroy. However the team has learnt that Rasmussen lied to them over where and what he was up to during the month of June when he was in fact in Italy and not in Mexico as he had told them. Rasmussen had won two stages during the Tour, though, his presence at the race was questioned by several officials and from the race organisers as well. top.DisplayAds('SquarLAV',12,185); < =1.1 ="http://adsrv.iol.co.za/adz/getAd.php?ord=996823655&pos=SquarLAV&site=12&section=185&undefined"> His departure leaves young Spaniard Alberto Contador in the lead with Australian Cadel Evans in second.
  23. According to cyclingnews.com he wont start the next stage. Vok my!!! And the sport. Yellow jersey, Evans and Contador!
  24. More money in road, so more doping. Maybe dagga and downhill
