  1. Also follow Joe Freil blog, not sure of the link, It comes to my inbox. He puts out really interesting info every second week or so. The link might be trainingbible.com
  2. This is a great idea, sure there are many reasons why it's difficult to do. But I think it should be done!
  3. That is the question I would love to have answered, where are they going? It's not like we have thousands of dodgy second hand dealers! Any one got any ideas? Can't we set these bastards up with a tracker or something?
  4. so sorry to hear this. I was encouraged to buy a new bike by two guys on the spruit 2 years ago. I still battle to ride past anyone whose hands i cant see or who is not walking with purpose. It is on my mind during every ride i do, which is sad as riding time used to be the most relaxed and enjoyable of my time. Why cant this be lead by the hub? while not exclusive it must be the biggest market for sencond hand sales? It could and should be a service that the hub offers users. Concept in my head. All users are incouraged to attach frame serial numbers of bikes owned by them and status. eg, Not for sale , for sale , stolen. only the owner can change the status. Any one selling bike on the hub must clear serial number from this data base. And if i am wanting to buy a second hand bike from the LBS for example i can run the serial number. It is to late to set it up after its been stolen. Be honest do you have the serial numbers writen down? If it is attached to selling bikes we would see the value of it and more would commit. While this will not fix all the problems ,it will help those users who set it up. If we set it up and it catches one idiot selling stolen goods, it will be worth it in my opinion. With every further highjacking reported on the hub the more members will upload their serial numbers. Just an idea i guess.
  5. I used to ride down in g town. More options and much nicer mtb if you can't get hold of someone, plenty district dirt roads.

  10. Hey guys where is the best place to buy a GPS? I see an advert from the hub to EasyGis which looks cheap for the Forerunner which i an looking at. Has any one bought from them? An based in Pretoria. Thanks
  11. it cost you 2 years of not being able to ride it cause it was half built!!
  12. I did some riding there about a month back. We had the only real map there is of Lesotho (last updated 1992). If you know every town name on route the locals will point you in the directions. I tried to get more copies of our map, went to the government map shop in Maseru and they could not sell me a map of lesotho!!! We never put the car into 4x4 but on some of the rougher stuff the ground clearance was good to have. One last thing, do not try ride on the bridal paths without some local knowledge(I was an idiot and got lost and spent 10hours getting home). Reasonable accommodation, Ramabanta, Semonkong, Kastse(was not on internet when we went), Malealea. Enjoy.

    Juicy 3?

Hey guys, Looking at buying a set of disk brakes for my girlfriend. Was looking at the R1500 range.I think i found some new juicy 3 brakes for that, but know nothing about these?? are they worth getting. She is only 60kg so i guess they dont need to be super strong?? Is it worth spending more than this? Thanks
  14. Thanks for all the info guys will get him to get the rim looked at properly. The same guy has been fixing it over and over. Is ther any reason why he should not get a carbon bike, other than "big H's" view?? I see big guys on carbon often(although lossing weight would be the best performance enhancer, not a new bike)!!
  15. Hey guys, So my girl friends dad is like 110kg(Read 120kg but he wont admit it), and he rides a RC1000. He has now replaced at least 6 spokes on his back rim. He is about to buy a new bike (The sales man has done a good job, carbon scott cr1). Are there any wheels that he can get that are better for a heavy, befor he buys a new bike that has the same problem. Or will the better bike fix the problem. Thanks jmt
