  1. Vaste 6 - that is how I understood your comment... pity someone took it so personally... oi
  2. I think the only person who you'd get that right with was that lady that shouted at MariusH outside Bonnievale - "Vanaand is jy myne boetie"...
  3. And let me guess... you'll also be wearing baby blue PUMA socks
  4. I think your Garmin missed those few meters of climbing where I pushed you Just kidding - TankMan was a machine, I'd ride DC with him (and the rest of the team) anyday - what a team player and thensome
  5. I didn't even know they did dope tests at the dc...
  6. I agree with Eugene 100%
  7. I totally agree - I've got one of those KCNC seatpost, that has a funny clamp setup, I just move my seat a little further forward (not all the way), slap on a set of uberhund TT bars, my aero wheels... and I'm ready to fly. I'm lucky that I have a super aggresive position on the bike, so for me a TT bike is a waste of money (that I don't really have)... lol. the best thing is to change your setup in small steps, you get used to it easier in small chunks - don't go do a massive change and expect it to be comfy straight away...
  8. I'll be back next year for sure... absolutely loved it, even if I suffered most of the way. Our team was awesome! Williams Bike Shop
  9. You will seriously reap the rewards of a wetsuit... I'm not a good swimmer at all, but having a wetsuit gave me a bit of a mental push, and it seriously helps with keeping your legs boyant (saves you from using your abs to kept your legs straight - more efficient, think speedboat)... I got mine for R1.2k, an entry level ORCA S2 - apparently a very very very good entry level wetsuit... I figured i swim poef anyways, so not gona spend thousands on a super duper wetsuit - not gona help me that much. I've used it for numerous events including x2 70.3 and x1 full IM, works brilliantly!!! But get one, you won't regret it at all...
  10. Ja _ no go Baden Powell, I'm even scared to ride that road with my car Agreed with Slowbee, go through Pinelands towards Bellville, then onto the Bottelary road, R44 into S/West would be best...
  11. Rival
  12. Two of my mates have Zipp 404's, and both of them had to send their rear wheels back to have the rims replaced because they cracked... I don't like the idea of spending R16-20k on a set of wheels that crack I don't know if it's true, but apparently Zipp wheels are assembled in SA (Kyalami me thinks), rims, hubs, spokes imported seperately and then assembled here... and spokes are usually heavily tensioned = cracking of rims??? (so my mate in the cycle industry told me)... so I got Mavic SLR's instead
  13. I'm personally a bit put off by Spinergy's, due to their cool looking 8spoke composite wheels having numerous failures... Now I know these are not the same wheels, and they've obviously jacked things up since then, but I rather stick to the more established wheels - Mavic, Easton, Campaq, Fulcrum etc etc. Just my opinion
  14. I don't wear gloves when I'm training on the road - I don't like the tan lines... but for race day I always wear gloves
  15. If you go the white bar tape route it's best to get the decent tape (not the cheapish cork type)... I've got fizik tape and the dirtyness just wipes away no problems... fizik is relatively expensive, but worth it IMO.
  16. cool beans...
  17. How can you make that statement if you haven't been riding a carbon frame for a few months (assuming you currently riding an alu frame and getting your carbon upgrade in December)... just a question?
  18. Frame stiffness is key, doesn't help you have a super lightweight frame that flexes all over the show... then a lot of your power is being lost in the flex of the frame before it get's to the wheels... it's like trying to play pool with a piece of rope (same type of analogy)... in saying that you want your frame to have a small amount of flex to give you some comfort or else you just end up feeling every little bump in the road... but also has a lot to do with the wheel you use... I remember a guy at the Worcester ride who had a mean looking set of wheels, and him being a slightly larger rider his wheels were flexing all over the show everytime he got out of the saddle (you could see and sometimes even hear his wheels rubbing his brake blocks)... pretty pointless having light wheels if they flex, same as your frame... I know the BMC pro's this year weren't keen on the top of the range frame they received, that's why many of them were using the frame just under the top end one as it had less flex...
  19. You had the blue 'Dale - I remember you yes A mate of mine has a SuperSix and says the ride is very harsh (he previously had a CAAD9), and also prefers the alu CAAD9...
  20. I think your cookie has become a blue waffle...
  21. That is just beautiful...
  22. I'm with you MTB_Roadie... my CAAD9 looks the business (IMO better than a lot of full carbin bikes), weighs under 7kg's... at probably half the price of a carbon bike... who needs carbon???
  23. Those last 30km look eina!!!
  24. hey Collin, I think you're doing an excellent job with BSR... will definetly consider a custom sprayed Black Spade road frame when the time comes for me to get a replacement... Keep up the good work!
  25. In a way yes - but you gotta do it with style...
