  1. I must just pay as well (vlip their website is a bit confusing )... will be my third one
  2. Cool - I've joined
  3. You can get a racebelt at the IM70.3 expo - it's like R80 or something... or wait till you come to Cape Town and get one at the TriShop in Bellville...
  4. Saint - if you're in Cape Town - you should join us for a swim at Silvermine sometime - good to get some open water training in
  5. They do give you a strap with the chip - quite a bulky strap at that. But sometimes when you take off your wetsuit it can come loose, and then it's in your wetsuit somewhere... then you don't get timed... and you can't get your bike back unless you have returned your chip (some guys then only realise the chip is in their wetsuit when they get home - after paying for a replacement thinking they've lost it)... I just put some tape over my chip when i put it on the morning of IM... that makes it extra secure... Oh, and make sure you get a race belt - so that you don't have to pin your numbers to your top (on the back for the bike / on the front for the run)... your number is then stuck to your race belt and you just move your number to the front for the run - no pins, no fuss... Saint... you gona luuuuuuuuuuurve IM70.3
  6. The swim is actually the easiest part... and I'm no swimmer (okay I was prior to conception - but that's not the point )
  7. it's really not that bad... it's actually an awesome experience... and yip - bike leg is rather tough. Run will be hard this year as well... twice over the WHOLE of bunkers hill... a steep bugger of a climb!
  8. I don't think he will be found guilty... Contador will be there next year
  9. Glad you're oka stratus - even thou you weren't too badly hurt, the mental scars are usually the worst.
  10. That's if he is guilty...
  11. Contador will be back to silence ALL his critics
  12. Ina way true - but having them around gives people the opportunity to ask about it, and gives us an opportunity to tell them about our Saviour... No?
  13. Vlip - that trek looks fast, and by his time it was, 180km in 4.23
  14. I know most motorcyclists greet each other when they are on a Sunday morning run... not when they are dodging their way through mid week traffic and their attention is on staying alive... so yes, given the circumstances you should greet
  15. Oi - funniest thing I say at Woolies when i worked there was - Halaal Easter egss So would they get to stay???
  16. I was actually wondering... if they are removing religious themed books from their shelves... will they be removing religious themed food as well??? aka. halaal, kosher etc etc
  17. I agree Dassie - sometimes we are in our own little world... but when someone looks at you when you greet, and then blatantly ignores your greeting (for whatever reason), that's when i think some of us get a bit peeved. I do sometimes say a nasty thing at those okes - knowing well enough I am fast and strong enough to ride away from them if they decide to chase me down
  18. I remember way back when i was a laaitjie, all cyclist used to greet each ther - whether you were a "fun" rider, or if you were a more serious rider... these days most okes on there expensive p!$$y bikes think they are the bees knees and even strain their necks to see what bike you are riding - then they seem to decide to greet or not. I also think it's that "superioristic" attitude that makes us hated by drivers and the like.
  19. Was the R450 for duties and tax and stuff? Or for postage?
  20. Welcome to the hub... For a guy your size... I'd probably say a large... but hopefully the bike shop (LBS) you are getting it from would be able to advise you correctly... Ps. Nice bike
  21. Yeah, I also want the black one... blue just doesn't go with my 'dale at the moment... I'm thinking this would make a nice Christmas prezie to myself
  22. In that case I was looking at the Garmin Edge500 last week - Evans Cheaper, but with postage was more than CRC
  23. Some of their goods are even cheaper than CRC - but it's their shipping that seems a bit on the heavy side... But always worth a look I reckon
  24. It get's a bit difficult and technical if you want to build your own wheels, but if a reputable wheelbuilder does it for you, they know about spoke length and all that stuff... so even thou it sounds rather complicated to some of us - for the wheelbuilder it's second nature. When it comes to wheel building, I leave it to the pro's. From attempting it myself, i know it's not as easy as it seems to the novice But if your wheel is buckled - sometimes it's the spokes that have gone a bit "pap" on the one side, and can usually be straightened by retentioning them - but make sure the rim isn't cracked. A slight "wobble" can be fixed, but if the wheel looks like spaghetti - you'd need to replace it. But if the wheel has a bounce in it (the wheel is slightly oval in shape) you will in all likelihood need to get a new rim as well.
