  3. The Canadian round has gone hand in hand with the UCI MTB World Cup since 1991. This year it celebrates the organisation of its 25th UCI event. Hosting a combined XCO/DHI event in August, Mont-Sainte-Anne comes before another North American round, Windham. Cycling South Africa’s Mountain Bike Commission has great pleasure in announcing that the following riders have been selected to represent South Africa at the 2015 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships in Vallnord, Andorra, from 31 August to 6 September.   5. Winter has delivered so many gorgeous days this year, but when it decides to rain... it POURS! Friday was one of those days & DH racing was not sounding like the best of ideas, the roads became rivers & the freshly burnt pine plantations had turned into a mush of mud & ash. A few riders braved the storm & got a few runs in, but my window weather report was not making photography a look like a good idea. The online reports were showing clear all day Saturday & Sunday, but on Friday that felt very far fetched, especially in a valley that has some of the highest recorded rainfall in the country.   15. On the 6th and 7th June Enduro and DH riders descended upon Cascades Mountain Bike Park in Pietermaritzburg for the 2015 KZNMTB Regional Championships presented by NMI-DSM. The event brings to a close a highly successful 2015 race season, with a 3 round series and 1 championship event hosted at bike parks around the KwaZulu-Natal Province. The venue is well known to most riders having hosted 4 World Cups and 1 World Championship, and again did not disappoint, with steep and technical, as well as physically demanding trails awaiting the riders. Mid-winter in South Africa meant crisp cold mornings, but no rain for weeks before the event leaving the tracks dry and dusty ready to powder up during racing. Click here to view the article

  21. Last weekend saw the third round of the WP DH, this time in Paarl, just below the Taal Monument.   23. The 2015 KZNMTB Downhill Series came to a thrilling close on the 19th April with the 3rd and final round being held at Giba MTB Park outside Pinetown.
