  1. Anyone keen for a road ride tomorrow morning, avg pace, leaving Somerset west +-6.30am distance 80-100km Can either go Stellenbosh way or betty bay way
  2. I commute at 5AM and used to train at 5AM with a group before I started commuting earlier (new job etc). Here are a few things that help getting up early: - Riding with a group was very easy for me, knowing that you need to meet up with people motivates you to get up and go. - Prepare all your cycling goodies/pack your bag/lunch the night before - Prepare mentally - Get enough rest. Those are about the only things that really help me. To be honest, I find it very easy to turn over and continue sleeping, but I want to get out of that bad habit (happening more often recently) and get back into my routine of waking up early. For some its easier than others. I know there are guys that are out at 4AM and I might need to be doing that soon . So, what helps you get up and go ride early morning for training or commuting?
  3. Hi Hubbers, I am looking to join a group of intermediate riders, preferably not racing snakes since I can't keep up, who are interested in riding to Tygerberg MTB trails from Sunningdale area in a group on weekends. I have been amping to go for a while, but don't want to go it alone, especially past Du Noon etc. I have been watching a couple groups head out and back every now and then but do not know where they start at, or if they would like someone to join? Any takers? Karl
  4. Pretoria Croup Rides I had some success personally in another thread meeting some riders in the Pretoria area to go Mountain Biking with. Therefore I'd like to start a new thread for Pretoria MTB riders to post their needs for riding partners. Weather it be Morning Rides, Night Rides, Weekend Rides post it here together with some of your requirements use the list belof as guidance. 1. Starting area 2. Staring time 3. Intended route description. 4. Riding distance 5. Pace 6. Also state if you are in it for fun or if you want to do serious training Mountain biking takes us to places we rarely get to see otherwise and sometimes to remote places where there is nobody around. Mountain Biking is also more enjoyable with others. Riding in numbers ensures safety, you learn new routes and areas and you may even pick up some skills. Post your next ride in this thread and ask someone to join. Always have fun no matter what!!!
  5. We are looking for a couple of riders that will be capable of riding sub 6:30 on the day. I got a couple of sponsors on board so everything should be covered. Kit, accommodation and entry. Riders need to join most weekend rides to bond as team and you are sure everyone is on par. Most rides will be from Bottelary with pickup in Stellenbosch. We are doing the Franschhoek route this Saturday. Drop me a mail should you be interested and I'll send details. Cheers, Invite.pdf
  6. Hi all I am relocating from the Southern Suburbs to Somerset West end of August. Any group rides in the mornings? Preferably MTB but I can join a road group. Fitness level is reasonably good. If any, how many times a week and weekends? I would prefer twice or three times a week and one long ride on a weekend. Thanks
  7. Hi there, I am looking for some people to train with for Hill2Hill n September. I find that i dont have the drive to get up and go unless there is someone to brave the cold with. I am currently focusing on short rides with high intensity training and then on the weekends i do a longer ride with less intensity (40%-50%) with more technical stuff thrown in, and not avoiding climbing either. Anyone in Howick or surrounds that is interested please shout!!
