  1. Hi Hubbers, During a bike ride in Jonkershoek, some time ago, the topic of cycling socks came up between my friend and I (both students in Stellenbosch). With both of us always on the lookout for new business opportunities we realised that there is a gap in the market for affordable, comfortable, durable and just outright sexy socks. So we spent some time creating designs, pinpointed a reliable local manufacturer and from there Versus Cycling socks came to life. Now we need your input to make this idea a success and to ultimately create awesome socks. Please help us in better understanding your cycling sock needs by filling in this survey - it will only take a minute (By doing this you stand a chance to win a Versus Socks hamper as soon as we have launched our first products): https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DD2LK8S If you have any further comments to add on the topic of cycling socks, please do so below or send us a PM.

  5. Hi everyone, I would like to recommend Rigardt's online store, Origin Cyclery. I've bought a few FUNN products through him over the past 4 months and have been so impressed by his customer service. He's quick to communicate and really goes out of his way to help get you what you need at the best price. If you're looking for some new sexy handlebars, stems, or flats etc, then please check out his site and/or drop him an email to find out what he has (or can get) in stock. Even if he doesn't have something right now, he'll keep you in mind and get hold of you as soon as new stock comes in. It's really easy to complain about rubbish service (and I do). But it's even more important to share your experiences when genuine people surpass your expectations and treat you with care and appreciation. I've added his contact details below. Cheers Rigardt Griessel Tel: 087 238 2144 Cel: 072 015 8146 Online: www.origincyclery.co.za
  6. For decades the sock length debate has infested social media, forums and ride chats. Many have gone back to Rule #27 of the Velominati which states that: “Shorts and socks should be like Goldilocks. Not too long and not too short. No socks is a no-no, as are those ankle-length ones that should only be worn by female tennis players.” Many riders care to dissagree and stick to “just above the ankle” and others prefer to ride it long - mid-calf long. On a recent topic on Bike Hub, members of the community showed their stance on sock length and let’s just say, things got messy... Click here to view the article

  9. Versus Socks was established by two friends, Hanno Lategan and Jurgens Uys, in Stellenbosch with the aim of producing good quality socks with desirable designs at an affordable price. Judging by the number of Versus socks seen on the mountain and road, it seems they are doing it right. Bike Hub caught up with the pair to ask them about their venture. Click here to view the article
