Want one (alu, 105) very much. rolleyes.gif

Right now, apparently, there is NOT ONE of these available in a shop in SA?!

Several LBS's info is "wait until October for the 2012 model".

What to do? Who to blame? Eesh!

Fortunately have a great friend at work who has a spare road bike he has very kindly offered to loan me until October or needed back. Many thanks dude!! clap.gif

I really like my carbon Synapse.Pity they don't seem to bring in the full carbon one any more, only for the ladies. When I bought mine two years ago it was already two year old new stock. I asked the agent's at the time if they would be bringing in the new colours and was told sure at double the price. I bought it for the slightly more relaxed geometry, which no one was buying, as it was not "racing" geometry. Don't get me wrong, the CAAD 10's are hot and so are the various "6" models, but I'm not racing for 325th place in the M group. Now quite a few manufacturer's make slightly more comfortable bikes. I saw it again in yesterday's MTB race in the far East where a guy was riding a Merida 96. with a 60 degree stem and riser bars. A racing geometry bike for a weekend warrior that was sold the completely wrong bike, because it is "racing" geometry, which everyone seems to want. Good luck in finding a Synapse, a great bike.

I need to get properly measured, but the LBS guys recon a 54. (I'm 176cm, with fairly standard proportions).

Somerset West.

I'd like to buy through my LBS for reasons of backup service etc, so not so much ultra-keen on private deals for that reason.

But if my LBS can get stock from somewhere I will follow up, and push them in the right direction....

Lol. Yupp. Seems a common problem. I do really like the hard-core racing bikes, but its just not the kind of riding I am doing (judging by my mtbs), or will be doing on the road.

Been looking at the CAAD8 as a possible alternative, but my heart is set on the Synapse. [although I've not yet ridden either......]

In my normal environment I have an old Giant ATX 850, and a beaut Merida 120. Besides the suspension, the 120 is so much less effort to ride. The Giant is edgy, and that is nice sometimes, but on the whole I like a bit of comfort and stability.

Anyway, be interesting to see what turns up. Thanks guys.

Fortunately there is no rush right now that I have access to my buddy's spare bike. Phew. clap.gif

Good to hear, Raven!

OT, saw the SuperSix shots on twitter last night. Oh man, that black looks gorgeous! Maybe a bit too much "text" on it, but still - beats the crahp outa the white frames above! Personal taste, I know... I just love black!

Then how about first prize, a black Synapse?

What I like even more about this is the subtle lettering, the frame really looks awesome.
