Hi all, I need to replace my rear tyre (and possibly the front) on my Scott. Just wondering what people recommend. Not tubeless.

Heard good things about WTB Stouts or a Maxxis Crossmark (rear) and Nevegal (fronts)... or shall I just grab some new Rocket Rons?

Cheers all.

Are you running Rockets front and back? I'm running Crossmark up front and rear and think they're great but am going to go for the Swalbe next. Why are you moving from tubeless?

I am using Maxxis Crossmarks (Front and Back).

Great for hardpack and good rolling resistance and thats about it.

I used Kenda Excavators before and loved them.

I am also in market for some new tyres for Sani2C, considering the Maxxis High Rollers UST.

I recently bought the Schwalbe Smart Sam...

Still to put them on, but they seem like very nice tyres as well...in same category as Crossmarks methinks. will be running a 2.1 at the back and 2,25 front.

Also not tubeless, and picked them up for R380(both) here in Centurion

i am running cossmark back and nevegal front, i did sabie experience and worked well in the mud, and is brilliant in the drystuff, back has great rolling and front had great grip.

had rocket rons front and back, did not like it, felt like wheel was washing away on the corners.

Thanks for the info from everyone. Seems like there is a good combo out there. The rims are stock std DT Swiss 445D, not tubeless.

RudoJ: the Sams sound like a good option and a great price.

Time to head for the LBS.

have you maybe considered the Crossmarks at the back and monorail up front, they seem to be a pretty popular combo, i personally am very impressed with the crossmark at the back, but havent had chance to try the monorail, take a look on CWC they seem to be running a really good special on the crossmarks

and the combo even better

and those rims you have can be run tubeless you just need to get a conversion kit either stans or joes

I'm also happy with the Crossmark. Ca you run the non-UST tubeless on tubeless rims? Hows the sidewall on the crossmark. The Crossmark LUST are pretty heavy.

Thanks so much for the info on the specials and esp the Tubeless call. Legend.

With winter around the corner I would definitely get Nevegals/nobby nics up front.

The rear would be crossmarks but nevegals would be better. It gets really muddy.
