Have to choose between SID RLT or REBA RLT... I weigh 78kg.

Anyone that has experience of both SID and REBA and does weight play a big role?

Does the SID have more maintanence?

I recently got the Reba. Was looking at the same options as you, but from all the digging around I did it seems like the major difference was a weight saving. The Reba is generally seen as the hardier one that required less maintenance than a SID.

Can't go wrong with the Reba though. Awesome fork!

Can't go wrong with either. Similar parts and maintenance. Sid slightly lighter and more pricy, that's about it. Happy trails

Sid is a pure bred XC fork, its nowhere as plush as the Reba and does not steer as direct. However its a good fork that said, and light as hell.

The Reba give more a trail feel, is plush, and steers nice and direct.

Depends what you want out of your fork. I prefer the Reba and I think its a better fork, so ill happily accept the weight penalty, its not like im a good racer.

I have both.

The REBA feels just a bit more stiff. little less flex than SID...

The SID feels just a bit lighter and wants you to go faster...

Both are good!

CWC got the SID on for R3800 now... so if you have te moola go for SID.

ps: franciosC will edit my post now for spelling mistakes.

seems like both of you have ridden both forks- i have a reba on my duel, want to move that to my hardtail and get something new/maybe better for the duel, which i use for longer races ( attakwas, transbaviaans, pioneer )- would the SID be a big difference from the reba?

No. For every guy that tells you the SID is better, there will be a guy telling you the Reba is more versatile. They are VERY much alike. The SID might be 100 grams lighter.

No the Sid will not be a major difference "in my humble opinion" the Reba gives you that plush trail feel, where the SID is a pure bred racing fork. But its a minimalistic difference really. I had a choice between upgrading to the new sid or Reba, and i still went for the Reba, since i love technical singletrack and it just gives me that feeling of a bit more confidence. but on the flip side the Sid does well on singltrack too, and 98% of most races are on jeeptrack. You have a Reba, so i would say go get the SID. If push comes to shove either you take a small financial knock if you dont like the SID and have to resell it in which case you still have enough to get a new REBA. But my money is on the fact that you will enjoy both.

rietrot,

:P

Dankie SKAAP!

CWC se verskil tussen die 2 is R300, so in daai geval is dit verseker die SID- wil nou net seker maak oor betroubaarheid ens aangesien my REBA nog nie vir my n enkele probleem gegee het nie.
