Tell me about it. I'm new to PTA and came across it doing a web search.

Is it worth a visit?

havent heard of it but that tipping bridge thing looks cool.

been there last month. Tipping bridge is broken due to the rains, the veld is heavily over grown so watch out for ticks.

riding was short, and not too well marked. go visit the place, but don't expect too much as it is not being maintained.

 

the whole area is awesome for mtb though, when we went there we saw a couple of groups heading of into the hills surrounding the boschkop trails and that looked like plenty more fun. so maybe go explorin...

how safe is it ... 2 people, 5, huge group?

It was great untill all the rain and I am sure it will soon get better again. Roughly about 12km's of single track, last year it formed part of the Nissan Hazeldean event and I am sure it will again feature this year. In general until now it has been a safe area to ride. I often ride on my own and so does a lot of others.

I crashed off that bridge the other day - went over a bit fast.

 

Maybe this is old news but a leopard was caught there in the beginning of the year.

 

I usually just make this part of my ride and not my whole ride - but it is fun riding there.

short will be good - would need a rest day on the mission to ride all the bikeparks that i can find over the public holidays coming up - looking forward to discovering new ones

Its a lekker ride but include it in a different route. The area around it safe. I have only heard of one incident in the last year

Has anybody been out to this track/trail in the past month - is still open ? As we are looking for some other trails/routes in the Pretoria area.
