Mmmmm. I roughly count a ascent of about 1850m on the 30KM route. Is darem ook nie vir kinders nie hoor

Gelukkig is die grafieke in voet.

Did this 2 years now and amazing how big this race became in 2 years. By now means an easy route. Lekker party afterwards with friendly locals.

O OK. At least now... I will be able to sleep the next few nights.

But yeah. Looks like the terrain can be challenging by it self. Or how does the real MTB'ers call it? Technical. :D

I love this ride!

Suppose it helps that I grew up on one of the farms (some of my family - the rich ones :) ) still farm their.

Spend a bit behind the particular scool's desks :(

Great ride and not technical - but tuffif you're like me not VERY fit/strong.

If you're unclear of the directions (to the start) you're welcome to meet up with us and follow.

We're meeting at The Engen One Stop on the N1 One North bound (prior to Stellenbosch t/o).

Departing at 06:15 - max 90 minute drive.

Am I wrong in saying that the elevation is in feet not meters.

The 32km race starts at 900ft and peaks at 1900ft making it a 1000ft / 330m elevation.

Total of the four main ascents would be 1950ft / 650m????

Looks like a great ride. Was a bit surprised when I saw a continuous 1000m climb! (but luckily we've now realised its only 1000ft... {I'm too young to know what a foot is though ;) })

Anyway, I'm going through from Durbanville... anyone interested in sharing the drive? (PM me) or email leighsascha@hotmail.com

And I was right again.....

The Breede ride might not have single track, but the long route is certainly not easy.

The climbs will test your endurance and the steep fast down hills your handling skill.

And he was right also

Slowest 32km I have done ever!

That is also a special skill

Its a tough ride and the wind did not do us any favours. Bonked for the 3rd year in a row at exactly the same place. WTF! Think if i pushed my bike to the finish the last 10km i would have had a better time.

Awsome ride again! Great bunch of people in the valley and they really go out of their way to amke you feel at home.

The 55 was quite tough! This is full-sus terrain. Thumbs up for the waterpoints. Allthough I only took on some Coke at 1 of them, I counted 5 on the long route. Why do arrows always point toward the mountain??

Saw a bike on the back of a bakkie with a broken Carbon bar. The rider seems to have some serious injuries to his arm and shoulder. This just shows again that we are entrusting our wellbeing on fragile technology.

My brother also crashed today after someone stoped in front of him at a decent.

Also have elbow and shoulder injuries, but hopefully not to long in hospital.

Just realized again how important a good helmet is!

Sounds like a lot of fun, the wind never did us any favours in the mast challenge as well, shoo it was tough!

Well done to all finishers!
