24hr profile and route for 1 lap (as ridden by the Hubbers), mostly fast jeep track with approx 800m of single track in the middle and then the usual section down the drop off and through the tunnel back to the finish.

We did 3 laps on Saturday.

1st obviously a sighting lap with the Hubbers then a quickish 2nd lap of 47 minutes and then a cool down lap. I imagine we should be able to cut the laptime down to around 42 - 45 minutes on race day.

They will however have to fix the "wooden bridge" after the root section.

Hear hear - if not there will be a lot of traffic back up in the busier laps

Does anyone have an email address for the organisers? If they're not aware, it won't get fixed.

As a recall from last year the wooden bridge was also a problem when it started breaking up.
Hence the reason why greatwhite and myself refrained from ramping down onto it with our heavyweight +/- 95kgs each (excluding bikes). LOL

We did an extra lap quite quickly: 45mins. Unfortunately I only started timing it 1.5kms in.

BTW, nice meeting you guys: I remember, Daemon, Ianj, BigBen, Thug, Amatuer and Lulu.

I notice a difference between the route IanJ posted and the route map around the halfway camp area - it looks like an extra 500m to 1km deviation to go through the halfway camp - this would also explain why IanJ only has 16.5km instead of 17.5km.

Loti & Dimitri are well aware of the problem and have promised to fix it.

You're right - it seems we turned left off the downhill at the correct place but that the route follows the river more closely after that - must be some singletrack hidden in there...?

Yay!! More single track (with a camp in the middle?)

Here is a close up of the section we missed, doesn't look too bad. We should have followed the track with the trees.

Any ideas what the halfway camp is for? I don't see much point in stopping there unless you have a technical problem, injury, you run out of battery etc. It wasn't needed before. Perhaps there will be a second timing system there to nab those guys who try to cheat with short cuts...
