was there on the weekend of the 9th and 10th of April, was open when we got there...6AM but the laaitie taking money only arrived at 6:30.

If you going to VG try and avoid the river singletrack, it's a mess after all the rain we have had.

A rideable mess or an unridable mess?

the bushtunnels are knee deep sloshy mud and in some places where there were bridges they were simply not replaced and you now have to wade a stream with your bike above your head(the first bridge coming back from Oom Piet's and the stream as deep as my middle), then where they were replaced they are very rickety jobs over high drops that made me very nervous. It doesn't flow like it used to. Look I like the rougher stuff and tech parts of that trail but you have to walk and/or cut parts of it out to make it back to the farm.

I asked around at the trailhead but they said they are not replacing any of the temp bridges with permanent ones yet(they are waiting for the rains to go) and will wait for the winter to start this effort. I can understand this, so for now I will cut out that piece of the trail when riding there.

thx for the feedback guys. We are doing repeated hill training on the climbs going to pofadder route. After pofadder we're riding all the way to and over breedtsnek and then back to the garage near breddts where my wife will pick us up. So a tuff days training lying ahead, if the weather permits.

was there today, some mud in the bushtunnels - getting the bike reall dirty.

did they change the rivertrack? it seems to be much more flowing than i remember, wider too so it's possible to pass .. and not as technical :( ... or possibly we were not on the proper rivertrack? at the office they said there's a 'novice' track higher up, we could have been on that. still way fun.

crossed 2 streams, one was ridable (albeit with bottom bracket under water) - other one was a hike-&-bike - but not that bad, all in a day's work

WOW that daggapad is FUN!! and that singletrack next to the road on the way back ... wow!
