Definition of mountain biking: 26er hard tail

Just say we all agreed to that, then some mtb'ers would argue about sram or shimano , lycra or baggies, to shave or not to shave, flat bars or risers-for people so in tune with nature and just wanting to have fun you (some of us mtb'ers ) bitch a hell of a lot :oJ.F.R

Oh you funny lot! What's so tough about a bike with suspension? Little bummy-wummy getting numb? Nah! Now the thing to do is take a road bike onto a mountain bike track, that'll be fun! Cyclocross! Just gotto find the tyres and things and then I'll see you on Table mountain. At least I'll be able to out-sprint the muggers - I don't have to be fast, I just have to be faster than you!

At least MTB'ers don't wear those ridiculous booties!!  That surely keeps us united??

You think (the bootie part). It's those ponces with white MTB shoes that need to cover them up so they don't get dirty.

"MTBers were never worried about speed. They wanted fun. Why do you think all these bike park and even the spruit are becomming smoother and less technical, it's to accommodate the roadies and their fetish with speed. Look at the 2012 Olympic XC course. It it basically a crit course painted brown so that it looks like dirt."

Do you mean one of those mentally handicapped schools?

If so I'm with you 100%.

Obviously. A mtber started this thread, and can't even spell divide. Morons.

26er, 29er, soft tail, hard tail.....all look like over grown BMX's to me.

Now we all know what they say about BMX's don't we...

So when are you guys going to put slicks on those thar 10 speed 29ers and feed your iron steads some carbon?

Don't complain mtbrs you managed to change a the bicycling magazine into a mtb magazine

Yes I agree, even my spouse noticed the change and she knows little of the ways of the bicycle...!

So what's with all their rules about what you can and can't wear, what bar you canb put ends on, what camel bag you must use, why you cannot use a water bottle, and so on?

I've ridden with some of the mtbers who profess that they're in it for fun, and they sure did suck the life out of fun as far as I could see.

Rules, no rules, I personally don't care, but stop being a bunch of two faced pretentious twats.

The first time in nearly thirty years of cycling that I experienced people judging me on my bike and my clothes and so on, was when I went for a group mtb ride for the first time.

YES!!!! I agree, It does not matter what you ride, it's THAT you ride. get it? since the age of 5 I have ridden almost every category possible, Started out as a junior rodie, rode mountain as a teenager, dabbled in BMX, in my 20's I did lot's of cyclo-cross and now in the last year i have been blessed to live in a place with the best DH on the planet...i still get excited when i see a group of roadies going up a climb and think "gosh, that looks like a fun time" the ONLY divide there should be is between those who ride and those who do not...and if you ride, you should not be such a bike snob that you criticize another form of the same activity, because then you are a tool, you should swing a leg over ANY kind of bike knowing you are going to have a fun as hell time, and if you are unable to do this then you are simply a poser...bottom line.road bike, bmx, trials bike, mountain bike (hard tail or sull sus), freaking commute bike with a flower basket on it...it's still a bike and that is all there is to it...
