Ok' date=' I have a garmin, what about meeting in the Hyperama car park this Sunday at 7am (it's about an hours ride from my house to there)?

[/quote']

Do I have to do it with you or can I just point out directions? Smile

If you;re serious I guess I could skip my club ride...

Avalanche, you keen?

No I know the route and have ridden it a few times but not up Panorama. Just thought it would be a nice ride for Sunday and if anyone wants to join then please do.

IanJ is this a firm arrangement? My club asked me this morn if I could marshall Sunday morning and I said I would having forgotten about this. Now that I have remembered about this chat I find I have no clue who you are and how to reach you to discuss!

Is this a classic Hub dilemma and a disadvantage of all the anonymous people? Smile

Sorry Sean, should have confirmed with you, we had the TCS party yesterday so didn't see the above post either (by the way if you had pm'd me I would have received an email but never mind). We did go but later than I said originally.

Here is the profile from the circle in the Hyperama car park to the top of Panorama and down the other side.

The steep section up to the first Panorama hilltop after the right turn (1731m) averages 10% with some sections up to 15-16%.

Surely you meant "reward" and not "punishment"LOL

I think Oukaapse definitely!

Well, after approaching Helshoogte for the first time a couple weeks back with much trepidation, I can now say that it isn't an issue anymore. Climbed Hels four times on Saturday (three from the front).

I don't remember too much of Ou Kaapse Weg though, although it is where I used to "train" (and fall) in my school days.

Thanks for this IanJ, will have to have a look and see how the PM thingy works.

Sjoe.... no wonder I find it such a pig of a hill.... puts the big climbs in the Pyrenees into perspective though!

Thanks again for the graph.

On way from Gordons Bay to Rooi Els - take last turn on left about 800m after Gordons Bay harbour road. Road goes to the dam entrance.
