mtn terminates christofs contract

So whats this I see on twitter about Christof v Heersens contract being suspended? Does anyone have more news on this?

The MTN Qhubeka team has terminated the contract of sprinter Christoff van Heerden due to behavioral reasons.

 

 

 

Van Heerden won the 2010 South African Road Race Championships and finished third in the same event this year. He is currently off the bike at the moment with a Scaphoid fracture sustained in a crash in the recent Tour du Maroc.

 

 

 

Recent incidents during the first races of this year by Christoff has made it impossible for us to continue collaborating with him. Our team’s image cannot be connected to Christoff’s behavior any more.

 

 

 

For the sake of clarity: This has nothing to do with the use of forbidden products. Christoff has personal problems and we also want to respect his privacy.

 

Van Heerden was hoping to be a part of Team MTN Qhubeka’s international program that is ongoing at the moment but the incidents over the last few months have resulted in the team having to move on without him.

No major news/skandaal here. If he doesn't fit into the team ethic then it's best for them to go their separate ways. It must have been a difficult decision.
