Guys - how does the width (or is it lenght?) - meaning from left to right handle - change the handling, feeling and experience for MTB - especially single track

the wider the more stable and precise you'll feel... in moderation of course, cos if you're too wide it will bring your weight too far forward.

for a trail bike I'd recommend no shorter than 680mm... 720mm is a nice length. For downhill I'd say 740mm - 780mm.

Your in luck, PinkBike just covered this topic in the latest Tech Tuesday.

I found 710-720 to be great in trail and I ride 745 on my AM bike

When I sold my FR bike, the buyer wanted the 780's off my DH bike, so I swapped them. That means I currently have 720's on my DH bike and it feels so wrong! Luckily I have a CRC order on its way with some 780's to right the wrong :D

Is there any major advantage to using a rizer handlebar compared to a flat one? Spotted a pimping white one on CWC and trying hard not to get the credit card out to buy it...
