The revenger of Tarmac's, Noneking, Divernick , Cois and Grebel, good stuff fellas, I really enjoyed the last few.

On a recent whirlwind trip to Germany I had about an hour to take pics in the small town we overnighted in, it was overcast, early morning and not really ideal for photography.

I decided to take out the fisheye lens, which already goes totally against the conventional and gives a very definite distortion, all the images were taken hand held with the use of HDR for single image exposures in mind, not for everyone, but I love this kind of stuff.

Just too dark, especially when it's about to storm, not enough contrast.

I like the panning on that first image.

yes i was going to add unless its a tad dark :D

but i got lazy.

i wasnt too impressed with my results, but i had a grumpy girlfriend and a throbbing headache, so i did what i could, before caving in and telling the gf we can head home

@Geecee: I tried a few times to get the panning effect with the blurred background but no luck... :( Shutter speed too high and timing was off. (Maybe I should start reading those tutorials...)

I checked out your website but it is under re-development. When will it be back up?

It is amazing where you can go at an event like that when you have a camera with a biggish lense on and a bag on your back... I manged to even get a wave from the marshals while standing right next to the dirt section while everybody else got chased away. "Only guys with cameras allowed. Now get back behind the trees!"

@Dangle: I have been toying with buying a fisheye attachment for my kit lense just to play a bit. They say it is fine for amateur photographers but not reccomended for professionals as it blurs the edges. For the price of the attachment though I would be happy to crop!!

best thing is carry a 'car guard'/safety bib with you and get media printed on it...

Then u'll see where you can get haha.

Motorsport sa requires you to pay a hefty fee and get approved to get any sort of media accreditation. Big politics over it, seems there are a few people protecting a select few photographers in that whole organisation.

I was shooting at around f8 with shutter at about 250/320 if i remember correctly. Iso 100.

But its not easy to get the bike sharp and in focus. I have the advtantage of 8fps on my 7d ;)

Nice work Dangle. You could put out your own calendar with these...

Aaaaah the magical 7fps... I topped out at 2,7fps  Nothing stopping you from publishing photos of a MSA sanctioned event, if you aren't one of the flock so to speak, though surely?
