How many frame builders dare to give a lifetime warranty. Up to date I've ridden 2 Treks.Look 585 and 595 Ultra. 1 Battaglin. Colnago C40 and C50. Time VXRS Ulteam and now a Time RXRS Ulteam. All of them are great bikes. The Look is great. The C40 is the most comfortable of them all, although its a decade old. Time, is in my opinion the one with the edge and they give a lifetime warranty.

Why not get a Pinarello and some change. Not a lot of change, but maybe enough to buy a coke?

All depends what you are trying to achieve with your new fiets. Do you want to go as fast as humanly possible, or do you want to show everybody that you can spunk 100k on a push bike? If the answer is option B, you need a Pinarello, or maybe a gold-plated helmet. The weight penalty would be about the same.

Colnago C40.... In 2003 (it won bike of the year that year) I used to look in the shop window of Sigma sport in the UK, and stare for what felt like hours at this bike. It really was a thing of beauty. With the funny diamond shape HP chainstays...

Then came along the C50:

Honest question : I see no mention of the normal "run of the mill" names such as Merida , Raleigh ,Specialized etc. As a Noob I have never heard of these "spaghetti and borchelli "names , so why are the Famous Name brands not mentioned in ths conversation ?Are they really that bad ?And if so why ? dry.gif  ?

by Famous, do you mean the ones they sell at your LBS?

Question, Wy would you whant to buy the best bike in the world, and mr nobody with his no name brand bike rides the **** out of you, with his R1000.00 game special?

There is no right answer for this, If you like look then the answer is Look, if you like Raleigh then the answer is raleigh. Wy will a BMW fan Buy a Ford? Why would a Bulls supporter shout lions?
