What fork have you got on the bike? How much travel?

Got a Rock Shox 120mm recon on. Will probably be nicer with a 140mm on but don't have the cash right now for that.. looking at getting a 140mm Fox one next year.

yeah, the Intenses from that era have notoriously steep head angles. Running 20mm less on the front will compound that.

So yeah, when you put a 140mm fork on that will relax it slightly... and if you still aren't satisfied and feel rich... an angleset may be the way to go.

Can't run an angleset on a 1 1/8th headtube as far as i know. That intense 5.5 has a 1 1/8th headtube.

oh yeah! forgot! I was thinking of my 6.6 which has the onepointfive headtube. I however also cannot run an angleset because of my 1.5" fork steerer.

So Dillonk21... seems your best bet is a 140/150mm fork, and a headset with as big a lower stack height as you can get.

May be the way? you know it's the way, patches!

yeah, they do make a big difference, but they also make a big difference on ones wallet.

ie. If it was a toss-up between an angles set and dropper post, I think a dropper post would be a better spend

Anything with the words cane and creek written on them tend to make the wallet bleed.

100% agree on the dropper. They are such nice things.

Fortunately Cane Creek doesn't have the monopoly on angle sets anymore. FSA now makes them and I think the FSA one's are more affordable.

HELLS NO!!!

Myself and MissionS have both bought that exact headset before thinking "wow, it's RRP is high, it must be good"

Both of ours ended up in the bin.

Here's the catch with the Crap Brothers headset... it says "sealed bearings" so one thinks of the cartridge style bearings that Hope, PRO, Cane Creek etc use. But in actual fact they just have a weather seal and call it a "sealed bearing".

One wrong move whilst installing that thing and you're chasing dozens of tiny steel ball bearngs all over your garage floor.

Yeah, mine has an angle of just under 69 degrees with a 150mm fork. That's on a large 5.5 - on a small medium frame a 130-140mm fork creates an even slacker h.a.

Wheels arrived this morning. So those go on and we're riding by the weekend. Yeehaw.

I ended up paying over 3k for what I thought was gonna be a 2k wheelset from superstar but I'm not dissapointed at all. They look very well made and light.

Omega, how much did you pay for the delivery on the wheels?

Ok cool, will stay away from that then.

What about this one then? http://www.buycycle....et-ec44-40.html

When it comes to headsets I recomend taking your bike to a shop to get it done. Headsets are super finiky to install and often specialist tools are required to remove the old one and install the new one. Using a hammer and screwdriver (been there) is a really bad idea and can end up costing you a ruined headset or even worse a ruined frame.
