Others of note:

12 BROSNAN Troy ° AUS19930713 MONSTER ENERGY / SPECIALIZED / MAD CATZ +13.003

93 BENTLEY Timothy RSA19920723 MOREWOOD UNITEDRIDE +37.394

Check that Fearon dude: first world cup, and smashes the top fifty to qualify. Was in the OZ DH season, literally neck n neck with T-Bos. Sour face Mullaly needs to watch his back. As good as Neko is, that Fearon dude is as his name suggests: a flipping beast on a bike..

The bad weather held off today with just a short shower midday, not enough to dampen anything but the dust, although as I'm writing this thunder is crashing and the rain is pouring down. The big stories of the day would have to include the men's podium, no huge surprise that Gwin won, but the rest of the podium was fairly fresh. 21 year old Josh Bryceland on the World Cup Podium for the first time in second place, 19 year old Brook MacDonald in 3rd place, 19 year old Danny Hart in 4th place, 23 year old Cameron Cole in 5th place, and 17 year old Troy Brosnan in 6th place. That's 3 of the top 6 riders under the age of 20, and the others not much older, and possibly a sign of things to come...

Aaron Gwin, stoked on his win and the new bike!

Greg Minnaar looked like he was having a fast run, 2nd at the first split by a tiny bit, and fastest rider through the speed trap, but then he had a bit of crash... Dirty and a bit beat up but still good enough for 18th...

Somewhere in that off the bike, Minnaar took a shot to the wrist. X-rays for the Syndicate rider this evening to determine what-if anything-is broken. Martin the Masseur is using a bit of canned ice to prevent swelling at the finish line.

T-Mo started the day off right for Trek...

This is how Gee Atherton's day ended. It was a long walk back down.

yeah..whatever cool-aid Miama Bryce is drinking, he needs to stockpile. That boys was stupendously fast!!!

and T-Bos.. omg.. i missed some comment from Nigel Page where was he was about to say something about how fast Troy is now, but imagine how much faster he will be once he finishes ...<insert one of the many breaks during the live feed on Freecaster>

I'm very happy for Bryceland. Time he stepped outta the shadow of Peaty and Minnaar and started laying down some of that smack he is obviously capable of letting loose.

oh and lets not forget about Brooke Bulldog Macdonald. that boy is seriously hauling ass this year.. wow!

Seriously exciting racing yesterday. Missed the ladies section, but here there were lotsa of bails..

oh and mega props to old man gracia. Chainless, but still managed to pull a one footer whip off that massive last jump..
