Jis but you okes are cycling befok. How about some books that does not involve bicycles.

Noakes's book is about sport, in general, and how performance is influenced.

Quite provocative and thought-wobbling.

Possibly a very good read:

Cadel Evans (BMC) has launched his autobiography, "The Long Road to Paris", detailing the Tour de France winners beginnings as an amateur riding on the mountain bike world cup circuit, to standing on the Champs-Élysées in yellow.

'We were young and care free"

By L Fignon

Intriguing description of the book.

Product Description

‘One of the most charismatic and flamboyant cyclists in recent history’ Daily Telegraph Laurent Fignon is one of the giants of modern cycling. Twice-winner of the Tour de France in the early eighties, Fignon became the star for a new generation. In 1989 he took part in one of the most fiercely-contested Tours of all time. Over the course of 3,285 kilometres he lost out to his American arch-rival, Greg LeMond, by an agonising eight seconds on the final Parisian time trial. Fignon does not mince his words. In this forthright and unflinching account the former champion spares neither friends nor opponents, nor even his own image. In doing so he gives cycling fans a tantalising glimpse of what really went on behind the scenes of this epic sport – the friendships, the rivalries, the betrayals, the scheming, the parties, the girls, and, of course, the performance-enhancing drugs. Laurent Fignon lived cycling at its peak. He enjoyed a truly exceptional career, winning over eighty titles from 1982 to 1993. The highs were matched by lows of serious injury, periods of self-doubt, and accusations of cheating. Fignon’s story bestrides a golden age in cycling: a time before the scandals and the shadow of doping, a time when cyclists were afraid of nothing.

Busy reading Tour de France, The History, The Legend, The Riders, by Graeme Fife. I wanted to read it while the TdF was on, but got too busy. R99 at Bargain Books.

I've read a few other books on the TdF, including Push Just a Little Bit Harder by Johnny Green, but Fife's is the best so far.

My wife gave me that book for a birthday present a few years back she knows nothing about cycling and took a chance with it I thought it was a great read and really enjoyed it.

Just picked up another 4 books from Exclusive Books for my collection clap.gif . Gotta do this while visiting SA.

.A Race for Madmen. Chris Sidwells. R129. About the TdF (another one)

.Its all About the Bike. Robert Penn. R134. Described as a love affair with cycling and the journey to build a dream bike.

.Wide eyed and Legless. Inside the TdF. Jeff Connor. R190. Described as the No.1 cycling book of all time, so lets see.

.Racing Through the Dark. The fall and rise of David Millar. R185.

There was also a book on Cadel Evans, but I-ll wait for the update of 2011 with his win.

BTW, tell me more about Tim Moore?

I enjoyed Racing Through the Dark

Yang what did you think of the other books above worth reading as I need to buy some more to read what do you recommend.
