Hi All,

 

My insurance is with Santam and when i decided to insure my mtb, i also insured it with them... BIG mistake, it seems. I've put in my claim last week with a quote, letter, ect ect. Got a call on Friday to take the bike to Willie Engelbrecht for another look at the bike and a quote from them... Apparantly they work together. After inspection and f*cking up the back wheel (couldnt take the bike home). I got a quote for a rear Hope hub. And in the same sentence he said that Cape Town didnt have Hope hubs and hopefully Jhb has and if not, I'll have to wait till next year.... Do this people think I dont ride my bikes??????????? WTF!!!!

 

How can he quote me on something that is not even available and expect me to wait till next year to fix my bike???

 

So phoned him this morning to ask him to find out if there is any stock in Jhb... still waiting for his answer. That was at 9 this morning. 

 

If they dont have any stock, I just want a quote for something similar, so that my back wheel can be rebuild and I can ride my bike again...Ouch

 

What should I do?? Any ideas??

Lilo, phone the assesor, tell them willie dont have stock. Phone other shops asked if they do have. If you find a hub phone the assesor

 

 

 

TELL THE ASSESOR WERE YOU CAN GET IT , AND DEMAND YOU TAKE YOUR BIKE THERE.

 

 

 

remember, the assesor knows already it needs to be replaced, he only now look to give willie the busines (by agreement, or by luck, whatever)

Willie will NEVER phone you back, that's the only thing you can be sure of. You don't need a new quote, you got a quote on the thing that broken, they need to pay the money to you so you can go buy something esle, some were else please!

I already gave them a quote(from another bike shop) and the assessor phoned me and said i should take the bike to willie so that he can have a look and give a quote....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

 

So Pops, what do u say

The assesor is making sure he is getting a christmas card from Willie.

 

 

 

Tell the assesor, the policy clearly state that the assurance will put you back in the same position as before your mishap.

 

 

 

Not that the assesor will determine were you go.

 

 

 

Vra die assesor om met sy bestuurder te praat en vra hoe hulle dink jy jou fiets by Willie moet laat regmaak as hy nie parte het.

 

 

 

Vra hulle om te reel dat hulle jou die kontant waarde uitbetaal.

So....... i faxed the quote for the hub that is not available. I told my assessor that I want the money, because i dont want to buy from them and as they have no stock. She said she'll have to talk to Willie first and will let me know... Wonder whats happening here...Confused

No no, she said she has to talk to willie before i even said they dont have stock. To confirm the quote i tought???? And she said they have a panel these days... sounds like a panel of judges and they will decideAngry But why cant i demand the money? Its me paying for the insurance each month??

 

I'm definately getting new bike insurance after this ordeal!!! Almost been waiting for a week, cant ride my bike..Cry

 

Think cyclesure paid marius the same day!!!!!! WTF

 

So where do I insure my bikes??

I had a similar problem.  Sent them a letter informing them that i would no longer be using them, within minutes i had a call and the problem was sorted out......i still told them to shove their business and took all my insurance elsewhere.  I do not tolerate bad service and neither should you.

Thx Shadow! Ya this is really a bad experience for me!!!!!!!! Still think it has something to do with me being a woman....ConfusedConfusedConfused

That is utter bullsh*t!!!Angry  Take your insurance elsewhere, or is there a reason why you would like to stay with them??
