I usually lock my bike up inside against a metal fence. I've also forgotten my lock and been allowed to wheel the bike into the pool area and left it against a wall there.

Lockers are big enough for a fair size bag, and caps not compulsory.

Thanks, do you know how early they open at all?

Im now training at Virgin Cape Gate, and lately there is this unwritten or worded rule to share the lanes. Sucks, we all need training time I guess.

:)

How is the pool at Cape Gate? Durbanville's is 20m I think and Tygervalley's markings at the bottom of the pool are not in the correct position - which resulted in me swimming in to the wall a few times.

And sharing a lane isn't a big deal, as long as everyone know's where they're supposed to swim and don't just jump in the lane without you knowing (I've also swam in to someone that way and they were the worse for wear  )

Just confirm with ATC that you can swim there whenever you'd like. I think it's only available for certain times and then you have to have a specific swim cap otherwise the guards along there will make you get out.

will do. I am joining the club so I plan to go on the organised swims, which they seem to do at least once a week. I am sure in Summer / peak tri season there will be groups swimming.

Yeah, I've only heard good things about their club. I want to join too, but may only do it next season cause I have a knee injury that's limiting me to swimming and easy biking only.

how have u found the pool so far TOS? it's 33m long the adult section. Kiddy/beginner pool runs perpendicular to the adult pool.

water is fantastic quality. school swim season has the pool at it's most disrupted to be honest. they block off about one third of the pool, from 5pm till closing, 7pm.

Cost is R15 per session, with options for monthly and quarterly passes.
