Does your office have a shower?

There are so many people riding their bikes to work I wonder how many of them shower at the office, that is now if its a office job.

Try at best to identify any risk posed by motorists, pedestrians, animals, and environment, and take necessary cautionary measures.

There is only one thing that is really important (IMHO) and that is expect everyone (drivers that is) to do whatever is the most stupid thing that they can do. You're then unlikely to be caught by surprise.

I used to drive through the Transkei on a regular basis and nothing much surprises me anymore.

As soon as you expect people to do the sensible thing or try to assert your 'rights' as a cyclist, you'll probably experience some form of unhappiness.

Welcome to our world.

Rule number one . Everyone wants to ride you over so think for every other person on the road and never assume they will do what they suppose too.

SUCH a beautiful day in CT today, riding in was an absolute joy. I feel like waving to all the drivers stuck in their boring cars while I enjoy the sun, the breeze, the grass, the trees, the bird-calls ...

YEEEEEEEEHA!

Assume you are invisible and everybody is driving their car for the first time - safest way to do it.

Don't look at the car, look at the driver and try to see where they are looking.

Don't try to go around pedestrians, ride straight at them and if they still don't see you yell at them as loud as you can.

I started commuting from work this week. Its heaven on earth. We do not have showers at work so I cannot ride to work. So I bum a lift in the morning and I have a super ride home in the afternoon. Only 10km. But in Bloem there aint many places more than 10k's from the other. I go out of my way to create a detour just to stretch my ride a little.
