you got it wrong. Scale 29 Expert selling for 22k. (IF, big IF, you can find a shop with any stock left....) Scale 29 Pro to retail for around R30k.

With the high demand for 29er carbon frames, I'm sure plenty people will be willing to pay the 17k for a Scale Pro carbon frame.

ManiC Cycles in Worcester has a 2012 Elite and a Comp on the shop floor. 29er Comp going for R7,499. 29 Elite for R14,999.

The Pro and Expert is exactly the same frame, so R17k is a bit very steep for the frame only since the complete bike with some nice components go for R23k. The Niner Air Carbon frame goes for R11k, the Giant Carbon XTC frame will go for even less. The Scott is VERY nice though, probably my 1st choice, but not for 17k.

Very nice bikes, glad to see you can get them, i like the red, would have liked something more flashy like the ibis bikes

but value for money this 29.er seems to be good and also a very good racing machine

you guys that have one, what it like xc and does it climb much harder than a 26,er?

Hijack on...What Michelin tyres are those Superfly, they look fast? Hijack off...

They are the Michelin Wild Race'R. Awesome but about 680 g per tyre. Have just replaced them with Racing Ralphs and that got bike weight down to 9.74 kg.

I can tell you out of personal experience this is one awesome bike. Having ridden a Santa Cruz Tallboy for a while the Scott definately climbs a lot easier than the dualie. It is however , and this is only my opinion harder work on the 29er to get uphill but not by much. We have a local race 6 times a year which is a 25 km route. Rode it first 2 races on a Blur XC 26 Dual. Then rode the next 2 on Tallboy and was 1:15 faster on Tallboy. Rode last race on 29 hardtail and was almost 3 minutes faster than Tallboy in worse physical form. In my opinion the hardtail rocks but saying that everybody will have their own version !

I can just tell you the new Scale frame is extremely light and has the new SDS chainstays which definately absorbs the bumps to some extent. Hope this helps. ( By the way I still hang onto old faithfull which is my 26 Duallie which is still an awesome bike )

lekker, dont care what the others say, jy het mos daai roete gery en die tye is veel beter

overall you wont climb all the time in most races so this sounds like a good bike

thanks for the info
