So excited!!! (not so much about the Braamfontein start though)

 

Why not start in Dunkeld, and then skip the Parkhurst loop on the way back? The run straight down Jan Smuts would be quick and easy, cutting off the last part where everyone is tired.

 

A lot of people don't like to park in town, and if I look at my wife's reaction to the start venue change, there will be a much smaller turnout this time.

Wasn't part of the problem last month the "mass sprint" back to Dunkeld on Jan Smuts which meant that instead of being in a small, safe group where the slower riders were kept an eye on, we were strung out over 2kms of road with people dropping off the back?

We only got back together after the left turn (which not everyone took).

I am guilty of being part of this at the end of Feb Decided to ride closer to the back end of March.

Dassie, Thug and I will be riding through from the North. How many others want to join? We are leaving at 18h15 to be in Braamfontein by 7.

There will be safe covered parking for at least 30 cars, at the start.

Kitcheners is always open for a drink after, and Great Dane will also be open, serving hot dogs and alcohol.

Where should we meet and ride from? Maybe we just ride from Dunkeld, seems like a few people from the Facebook group will be joining us too. So we leave 18h00 from Dunkeld? What do you think?

I'm keen for a 18:00 dunkeld start. Just need to check, I have some friends that want to join and they may opt for the shorter route. If they're fine with the longer, or don't come through... then I'll see you guys at Dunkeld
