I made the comment before, champions are made during adversity. Australia have thrown their best at us and still not able to win. We have now survived two tough matches without Australia having been under serious pressure.

I would love to see Australia get under some serious pressure early on in the next match and see what they come up with.

Hope King Kallis can play.

He is so formidable. Even if he only bowls.

3 days of rest, then back to Day 1 of the final test.

Vern must bowl Clarke for a Golden Duck, me think!

Think 4 days preparing for a 5 day game is not enough? At the same time the aussie players were sent to their own homes to chill out.

I really like Faf, he's a decent cricketer and has really bided his time. I though he'd come right for the limited overs team but he didn't really take his chances in england. Once all injuries are sorted, just on this game alone I don't see JR above him in the pecking order. As far a i know he was in the same year as AB at affies, and they've played in teams together for yonks. Their dads are also very good pals.

Whilst it was a draw to celebrate, I really think we could have taken this with a more aggressive attitude. It seemed like a lot of the luck went their way, but we bowled badly and threw quite a few wickets away needlessly. We really let the aussies boss us here and need to use this result as positive energy to give them a snotklap in perth.

To put pressure on the Aussies we needed Steyn, Philander to fire. That hasn't happened and Morkel cannot do it on his own.

Yeah, 20 wickets to take the win.

The bowling attack must get back into business, especially Vern.

And which team feels better right now?

Let's see. SA have no less than 4 batsmen ranked in the top 10. Amla (ranked 2nd), Kalis (3rd), de Villers (6th) and Biff (10th).

Aus only have Clarke.

In the bowling rankings, SA have Steyn (1st) and Philander (2nd) and Morkel (9th)

On paper, that should make SA a better side and we should have cleaned up.

That we have only managed to scrape two draws together and have only managed to dismiss Clarke (with two double centuries) once, I would say that would make the Ausies the happier of the two sides. If I was Clarke, I would be a far happier captain than Fatty.

Should Rudolph stay in?

Is there enough there?

Hmmm...

Rudolph should go back to being Santa's reindeer or some junk. I say drop his useless ass and put Faf in his place.

Perhaps, but Clarke can ask the following question:

What more must I do to get a win?

Drawing is not enough and the tables can turn quickly.

Faf kinda replaced Duminy.

Elgar would be the candidate to replace Rudolph.

Wonder where Prins is in the minds of the selectors?

Not for this tour, just generally.

dont forget where they are. Ask any former player and they will tell you that a test victory on Australian soil is up there in their top 10 of memorable career achievements.

Yes, we have the players, but on both tests we have been faced with injury pullouts as the test started. Having a main strike bowler out on the first day when you are about to bowl on good batting wicket does nothing positive to a team (and not forgetting losing Kallis as a bowler) after that first day SA where always on the backfoot. All in all I would say SA lost 1 day of that test...and that was day 1

My Saffer test dream team at the moment:

Smith

Alviro

Amla

Kallis

AB

JP

Faf

Quinton de Kock

Dale

Vernon

Morne

With Faf and JP to take responibility for filling the role of spinners and Smith to work on his field placing for spinners

Does it really matter if Faf replaced Duminy? Duminy can bowl and take wickets (and sometimes he can bat a bit too). Rudolph can't do anything. At least Faf can bat a bit and he can field. Rudolph is about as useful as an ash-tray on a Harley. He might not be bad in the slips, but he isn't in the same fielding class as Faf.

I still say drop his ass and keep Faf if Duminy comes back into the side. Then you have more depth in all three disciplines. Better batsman ' fielder (Faf) and better batsman / bowler (Duminy)

All you have with Rudolph is one less reindeer for Santa's sleigh.
