Instead of going down the razzle-dazzle/bling-bling route I decided to go down memory, and start at the beginning smiley2.gif

 

Here is a picture similair to my first real (non-school-and-back which was a Peugeot 10 speed) bicycle:

It is a 1989 Bridgestone RB2 Synergy (red and white, as per picture) which I bought secondhand during 1991 and I had many thousands of enjoyable km's on it as a student.

 

After the studies the cycling quietly took a backseat until it dropped off the bus completely. So now, after nearly 2 decades, I bought an MTB (Raleigh Nomad - same colours as per picture) for the occasional ride and competition.

Thanks to the advice on the HUB re Kids bikes I got my eldest (almost 10yrs.) this. Fits her like a dream, and the couch it seems. Giant MTX 250, 24 inch. Got it 2nd hand @ R1250

so i took my baby in for a service the other day. to ensure everything was in 100% working order before i move overseas.

 

then i received the bad news, the sti internals were nackered and a new chain and cassette were needed.

 

so after some thought i decided to do the upgrade that i was planning for next year now

after some more thought i have decided to see what she would be like with one furhter addition.

Upgrade from 9spd ultegra to:
