Instead of going down the razzle-dazzle/bling-bling route I decided to go down memory, and start at the beginning

 

Here is a picture similair to my first real (non-school-and-back which was a Peugeot 10 speed) bicycle:

It is a 1989 Bridgestone RB2 Synergy (red and white, as per picture) which I bought secondhand during 1991 and I had many thousands of enjoyable km's on it as a student.

 

After the studies the cycling quietly took a backseat until it dropped off the bus completely. So now, after nearly 2 decades, I bought an MTB (Raleigh Nomad - same colours as per picture) for the occasional ride and competition.

True, you can keep your lunch box on your bike until after the DC.

Thanks to the advice on the HUB re Kids bikes I got my eldest (almost 10yrs.) this. Fits her like a dream, and the couch it seems. Giant MTX 250, 24 inch. Got it 2nd hand @ R1250

JP i only saw it now but you need a Zero offset seatpost with the saddle so for forward

so i took my baby in for a service the other day. to ensure everything was in 100% working order before i move overseas.

 

then i received the bad news, the sti internals were nackered and a new chain and cassette were needed.

 

so after some thought i decided to do the upgrade that i was planning for next year now

 

and this was the result

 

after some more thought i have decided to see what she would be like with one furhter addition.

 

and now i have this

 

 

Upgrade from 9spd ultegra to:

 

Dura Ace Front and Readr Derailleurs FSA crankset, Ultegra 10spd STis and Dura Ace 7800 wheelset.
