Them brake levers can be deadly!

Here's another pic of a brake lever incident. I won't post the pic itself but rather a link. Not for sensative viewers

My list is as follows:

Broken Ribs

Year later broke ribs again

7 months later broke both wrists, surgery on both (3 surgeries on the left), permanent pins in wrist, and broken elbow. 7 months recovery.

about year and half after that, more broken ribs.

After another year, broken ribs and collar bone.

I have great pictures of the wrist before and after the ops.

actually thought it was my ergon bar ends at first. then found a hole in the shorts that matched the lever.

Broke my radius head (in elbow) on Saturday. Sitting in a cast at the moment. Will know on Friday if they will operate.

Yep that happend to me about 5 weeks ago. Lucky no cast. One stupid pedestrian. Need I say more ?

My advise to you is, discuss with your doc and see how soon you can straighten you arm.

Mine was in a semi cast for +- 2 weeks. I am working on straightening my arm. You may find this is the biggest problem, and is an area where you are going to do a lot of rehab.

Very frustrating to be carrying watermelons under the arm :)

I am hoping that I will be able to straighten my arm soon.

Determined that no operation will be needed. In semi-cast for 2 more weeks then I will start with straitening exercises. I am beyond frustrated with myself at this point.

If it was anything like my m/cycle accident - shattered elbow just below the join - it took around 3 months of physio and I still have a loss of around 5 deg from straight. I have learnt to live with it but all that is limiting the full 180 deg (straight out) is my bicep.

I was in a cast for a long time so my tricep and bicep stiffened and 'lost elasticity' if that makes sense.
