Hi there Hubbers

I was hoping someone out there has the same thing or can help. Whenever I am competing in an event and my heart rate spikes I feel sick. I have to wait for my heart rate to go down and then I can continue until the same thing happens a couple minutes later. I doesn't happen when I run unless my heart is spiking while running up a mountain. I don't think it is what i am eating as I have tried all different combinations. It is getting to a stage now where I don't give 100% to avoid the feeling. Someone mentioned that it could be motion sickness?

Any ideas or cures welcome

Best wishes

On a serious note go see a cardiologist. No harm in a checkup. A friend of mine had the same thing and it turned out to be an issue with his heart and certain signals etc... in the end small heart operation fixed it.

Nutrition wise eat breakfast next time and only drink water mixed with Coke during the race. This is the most basic sugar you get so if you still get nausea then you know it is not your diet.

Lastly have yo ever considered that you are maybe pushing too hard?

Focus on starting the race maybe slower and increase effort as you go along....
