During a fall the lever was forced backwards and the piston popped out. I dont want to force it back in and do more damage. How do i fix this?

Its a fail safe feature - did the same to mine (twice) and landed up speaking to Andre about it at the time.

Reposition the piston into the body whence it came. Then grab brake and squeeze like you would under normal use and it will pop back into place, job done!

Correct.

But speak to Andre first. If you don't do it right (read Hamhanded) you can damage the joint, and then it will pop out at ease, as it pleases in future.

I wish Andre was there when I dislocated my shoulder a few years ago... :(

Hey Brightred

As the guys mentioned above its a failsafe to prevent internat damage to the master cylinder in the event of a crash. The best way to get it back in is to disassemble the MC and clip the ball back into the piston. Your best bet is to get the bike to your LBS to get this sorted out. Unfortunately it does mean that the brakes will need to be bled.

Hope you come right!

Failing which give me a shout and we can arrange to collect, repair and return ;)

All the best,
