I have only been back riding my bikes for the past 3 years and i can honestly say i have been sick for the most part of the 3 years (its incredable)

What is it that other riders take to keep their immune system strong?

I have small kids and i seem to get every bug that they bring home with them.

I know there is a lot of people that don't believe in Vitamin supplements, but I firmly believe in it.

Firm believer in taking my multivits, omegas, procydin, etc pilletjies every morning. I'm the only one in the office not having been off work sick over the last year and a half. I find the Biogen range (Dischem) good and affordable. Oh, if you do feel the sniffles coming on, nothing beats freshly squeezed lemon juice in water & disprin and going to bed early!

Most Pharmacies. Cost about R20-00 a pop. Get mine at Durbell Pharmacy in Sanlam Building (where I work) Before big race (during hard training regimen) I go for one once a week. The two weeks before the race, every 3rd day.

Nevva tried those injections...

They work (at least for me. Dunno if it's just the placebo effect!?) Since I've been doing for the last five years, I've never become sick in the weeks leading up to the event.

That was me 2 years ago (also small kids). Now make sure I get more sleep and taking viral choice and omega 3 and 6 - and haven't had a cold in 18 months... But I think sleep is bigger factor than the vitamins to be honest...

try adding zinc supplement with your vitamin c. I normally take it just before I go to sleep if I've got a sore throat and it is normally better by morning.

udxcob, you say you have small children. Any chance that you do not get enough sleep in maybe. This combined with maybe pushing too hard during the odd training session might just open the door for all the bugs.

My kids are not that small anymore, 8 and 4 but yes stress at work has been hectic this year and it has definately had an effect on my sleep
