Socks - What you look for and prefer in a sock?

Dude!

Please let me know where you gets them for 25ZA rond. I need some more. Mine have Holes.

Shot

I just figured they must be around R25 since anything more would be a rip off ;) Im just teasing! I just dont like them much. They dont last long and dont feel like quality. The Garneau socks is not so bad for the price. Its around R45 and quite comfy

I really like the Falke road cycling socks, length is good and its thin with good ventilation. The road running sock is also excellent (the unpadded version)

However their mtb and trail running socks are horendous !

Sockguy socks also suck, they dont fit well and irritating toe seems.

Shimano makes some reall nice mtb sock - padding underneath and vented op top, the road type socks don't work well when you need to do some walking on mtb rides.

First Ascent makes the best trail running sock I've tried - no seams on the sides of the toes, well vented on top of the foot, padded underneath.

Bamboo and merino wool mix, have walked 6h and run 2,3h in groenkloof no problem

I would say they are a mid height sock. Not as high as the De Feet I have seen. See pic. Will check on De Feet, but from those I have seen they are not cheap. But nice!

Defeet come in a range of ankle lengths. American company. Expensive, but worth it.

A sock is just that, a sock. Would you spend more than a 100 quid at woolies for a pair of socks to wear to work?

Not from Woolies. But any socks - when I actually wear them to work - come from bike shops. So, yup, I would.

thumbup1.gif This is a much better view of the sock than the one you have in the classifieds. I cannot see what I'm buying with what you are showing there.

I'm looking for Twin 6 socks at a decent price. Personally I'm not interested in pro team branding, I just like nice socks that are above the ankle and below the calf.

Thanks, have updated ads. Will try and find some nice pics of others short of me having to try them on and take a pic of my foot. :)

I went through a patch of loving X-Socks

Failing that, the white socks with the blue Shimano branding are my current favourite.

Most socks are too thin for me.

I am getting new shoes today, so maybe they deserve new socks...

I have some of those too. Very snug. I also like the XTR-branded ones.

Got a Primal Wear pair as a prezzie from a certain hubber last year that I love.
