The heat was err......hot and I passed quite a few 35k riders resting their weary bones in the shade of what few trees there are in the reserve.

 

Well done to Jules on his win.....again.

I also wish we could hold the prizegiving sooner, but unfortunately we are dictated to by circumstance.

To be able to give an official result we need to have at least 3 people of the same gender crossing the finish line.

With the men that is usually no problem, BUT with the fairer sex it usually is.

There is normally quite a gap between the first woman to cross the finish line, and the third.

If we want to give category prizes, that then also means that there need to be at least 4 entrants to cross the finish line.

 

Today we were in a fairly unique position, in that there were 4 ladies in the longer race, and each one was in a different age category.

We therefore had a Senior, Sub-vet, Vet and Masters winner, even though there was only one competitor in each category.

 

If anyone has any solutions on how we could improve the time it takes to bring out the results, I would like to know, as it would make life easier for us as well.

I was going to ask why it takes so long...

Can't you give out the prizes that have been confirmed so long? It sucks having to wait for the ladies when the men have already been sorted?
