I just noticed about 2 weeks ago that my cadence speed sensor has stopped working. i have had the unit just short of 6 months .

 

I have reset the little button numerous times and have adjusted the position of the unit as instructed in the book too .

 

I am baffeled and have even taken the HR moniter battery and swopped it with the cadence one too but it just does not seem to pick up the crank or the speed magnet for a reading. the wheel magnet i can hear it reads as it makes that soft clicking sound and only sometimes it will flash red.

 

has anyone had a problem like this . any suggestions would be welcome . thanks

Mine also stopped working after a few months, I just assumed it was a dud battery and took it off.

 

I have been meaning to replace the battery and start using it again so will do so today and let you know if it works or not.

thanks Ian I was thinking along the same lines maybe the signal is a bit weak to get to the unit i dont know maybe i should also buy a new battery and see what it does.

Are both sensors not working?

 i do pedal only on the uphills  yea it is both the speed on the wheel and the cadence .

Just an idea. Might work and might not.  Try getting the unit to do e re-scan for the sensor.

 

In system go to accessories, and then you should see where to do the scan.  I have had to do that with the heart rate belt before, but I think that was because I used a diffent Garmin belt.  He he, I have about 3 from all my different units.

I have not yet set mine up but i plan on fitting it to the bike on my indoor trainer, maybe that will motivate me to use it more.

hey racman how r u doing today ?? did the ride again today pockets full of tubes co bombs and and and. and yea man not one puncture on the ride but had to change the tube before we started. Bmc was with us and a guy from work . weather was perfect for riding and we saw one large puffy +- 1m on that long drag up just before you drop down to the gate. the one that does not stop. BMC got such a skrik i think he is still recovering

I replace my cadence sensor battery every 2 weeks. It doesnt last long at all...
