Hi Everyone

Was wondering if there is anyone out there that has had success in getting Super Record 11 setup and tuned so that it runs quietly and efficiently? I am in the Fourways area. I can set it so it works really smoothly in the small blade but as soon as moving to the big blade the bottom half of the cluster skips jumps and generally behaves and sounds like a tractor

Any suggestions help appreciated

Cheers

Tried Youtube? There are often tips on tuning the transmission. That said, I have read that the 11-speed ain't as crisp as the 10. Got the right chain?

Zac and Roadie go and wash your mouths out with soap.... My Chorus 11 speed has been running smoothly for nearly three years now, since it was put on new at Westdene. Can't suggest anything, as technically I am useless, but Hubbers like Spinnekop and others have been riding it for thousands of kms without hassles. You just need to find the right person to help you set it up, I guess. I can't comment on the 10 speed vs 11 speed as I changed from Ultegra. My 2cw.

Konjar, Im also in the Fourways area. I run Super Record with a SRAM power meter (and therefore SRAM crankarms and chainrings), all BB30. Mine runs very smoothly almost 7,000 kms later. If you're struggling I suggest you contact either Johan Bornman (yellowsaddle) or Hannes Botha (cycle boutique). Because this is top level equipment, only these okes touch my bikes and I can highly recommend both of them.

It's an SRM powermeter btw, not Sram.

But there you go, when you add some sram in the mix the noise goes away, methinks.

Give that man a Bells.

Just take it to Hannes, he will set it in a couple of minutes and you will not have to worry about it until SRAM Red Black/Blue/purple/yellow eventually gets Electronic or 11 speed, which might be a very long time.

Nope, Sram also makes a crank power meter, known as the Quarq.

SRAM makes the S900 crank which is used with the SRM, the Quarq Cinqo and the Power2Max. From about 2009-2010, SRAM sold the S900 connected to a SRM or Cinqo power meter through their distribution channels and under their brand as the S975.

Last year, SRAM bought Quarq, though it still sell the S975 SRMs. Over the next two years, Quarq will phase out production of Cinqos for other brand cranks (e.g. FSA, Lightning, Specialized) and will only produce the SRAM-compatible version. I'm not sure what will happen with SRM.

Minor trivia: name another high-end bike brand that SRAM owns.

Rock Shox? How about this trivia. What South African family indirectly own a share in Sram?

That's one, but there's another, mainly road/tri products. The family, I don't know.
